Once Human

Once Human

[SUGGESTION] Ideas on Physical Weight.
Some might not know this, but the game has a physical shape 'hidden' feature. This is a stat you can see by opening your inventory and hovering your mouse over the body shape in the lower right. You can be skinny, average or overweight, with each stat conferring some kind of small bonus and penalty. And though I'm not against this, I feel like it should be more manageable. I became overweight simply by eating when hungry. It wasn't excessive eating, just the normal progression of dealing with hunger. It feels a little off.

So my first suggestion is to add to the memetics tree two items. The Treadmill and the Weight Rack. Both of these can be used in your base to manage your physical stats, and in doing so, confer greater bonuses, just like in the real world.

These items would come with three new physical stats as well: Slim, Athletic and Muscular, which would match to the current light, medium and heavy weight classes, but give better bonuses, as the only way to attain them would be to unlock and use the new exercise equipment from time to time.

Currently the only way to change your weight class that I know of is eating normally to gain weight, eating Spoiled Food to make yourself vomit and lose weight (which is some eating disorder type stuff), or to use the mirror to 'magically' adjust your weight, which requires a certain resource. This doesn't really seem all that efficient.

Using the Treadmill would cause the player to lose weight. It will reduce your weight fairly quickly, so as to limit the time sink some, but would require a certain amount of time of steady use to achieve the change. This can take you all the way down to lightweight. Extended use of the treadmill will confer the 'Slim' body type; which has reduced penalties for being lightweight, while giving some small additional bonuses to run speed and dodge speed.

Using the Weight Rack will cause the player to gain weight. This can take them up to being overweight. Extended use of this item will confer the 'Muscular' status; the player would become more buff and still be heavy, reducing the penalties from being overweight, and giving an additional small bonus to carry capacity and melee damage.

Using both items regularly will balance you out at medium weight, and with extended use, get you the 'Athletic' body type. This is the most balanced of the two, with bonuses to weight capacity, run speed, melee damage and dodge speed. It would also require the most attention to your body state and regular use of the Treadmill and Weight Set.

All of these 'healthy' body states would last for a decently long amount of time so players wouldn't have to constantly be in their houses working out and waiting on timers instead of playing the game. I suggest at least one week of in game time for whichever physical state they set themselves to. There would also be an indicator near the body shape in the lower right to show what state you were in, and how long it would last, as well as how much of what action was needed to reach a certain state.

For example, if you were average weight, you could see that eating three more times would increase you to overweight, or not eating while hungry for 30 minutes would reduce your weight, or what have you. This would also show that, for example, using the Weight Rack for 5 in game minutes would get you a certain distance towards becoming Muscular or Athletic. It was fine as a 'hidden' stat, but I think it might as well be made more obvious.

if you really want them to add that i would write that in the surverys they do, as far as i know they dont read anything thats posted here on discord.
Undawn has a similar mechanic. If you're fat you need to eat salad or run on the treadmill. You also needed to exercise as well to be in the fit state. Honestly undawn was a fun game that like most mobile games turned into a p2w trash dump.

French Fries will make you gain weight every time they're consumed and Fat Burning Juice will make you lose weight each time.

Turns the Gym into a P2W mechanic, unless they offer a F2P option for the gym
if you just run all over you will always stay in shape. my character eats a ton, i eat food before i mine silver/gold, i eat before a lunar event, i eat before a silo, i eat all kinds of things. I just run all over and only use the car/bike when i'm in a true hurry.
