Games Dying

Crazy 6 weeks into a game that blew up and the player count is losing momentum at an alarming rate. This just another one of those Flavor of the week type of games?

Nah, just a case of people either waiting for the normal/hard mode servers they registered for to open up so they can start the new season, or people waiting for the new scenarios coming in September and October. Me, I'm one of the latter, currently only logging in to do my daily loot run in the Blackfell area for more furniture blueprints and collecting my Mitsuko marks.

I never understood why people look and care about statics for a game.

I mean you will like or not like it no matter what statics will say it will not effect your opinion of the game.

Sure some aspects wont work without players, like prime wars so i can understand that part.

Especially since the statistics, if we're talking Steam statistics, might not provide an accurate picture of the situation since Steam doesn't know how many people are playing a game off Steam. Once Human, you can also play on Epic and via its own launcher - neither of the players doing so are part of the Steam statistics. There might be just as many people playing via the launcher and Epic, which would mean Steam only shows one third of the actual player numbers ...

But, yeah, don't get that statistics thing. Either I like a game and I'll play it. Or I don't and I won't play it. Most of Once Human can easily be played solo, so why would I care about statistics?

Well it's a live service game so yes player count is always important especially if your going to be investing a large amount of your time into the game.

They dropped loot crates and locked all the best cosmetics behind a real money slot machine. It's a good game, needs a lot of work stiil. End game is ALL multiplayer, and the servers are small, so, finding groups can be tough outside of peak hours. The big world boss fights (Prime wars) are so laggy they're ALMOST unplayable (if you have a smaller group the lag kinda tolerable)

For me it's loot crates. Charge me a sub, charge me a flat rate, I don't care.... loot crates are GREASY and the second they put them in the game it tells you a lot about the headspace and roadmap the developers have. They suck you in with some great quests, a kinda cool story, then all of a sudden after an enjoyable experience the content just ENDS, and all that's left to do is was not enough content to keep me engaged. I'm guessing, while my view may not be the most prominent, that I'm not alone, and you'll see a bunch of people drop off with the same realisation that I've had.

But, hey, leveling to 50 was fun! I got my money's worth

I think it is taking a hit (like everything else is) from Black Myth Wukong's release; it will recover the numbers in a day or two.

I'd wager it'll recover come October when the new area is out to be honest. Hard Mode is unfortunately not that hard and a few people have already hit lvl50 and are waiting for next week to hit.

This, been playing BMW and my server is still phase 5, 2 more days to change to phase 6 before we can go to hard mode.

This happens to every new game recently, its not new. And there's always someone that says "Game's dying, people are leaving, crazy" People who try out the game and didnt like the gameplay leaves, shocker.

My game was previously playable on high settings. After the latest update my lag is so bad its unplayable crashing constantly so i turned my settings all the way down and its somehow even worse. Its so bad i literally cannot play the game. With such short and brutal seasons ts so frustrating i wanted to snap my keyboard in half and i usually have a ton of patience. 500 hours into this game should add some credit to my patience normally. The build i was supposed to be able to carry over is broken with the key set piece eating all my parts and many when crafting but not giving me the gear. Not the first time either last update broke my game to forcing me to reinstall. There are so many bugs and glitches, an extremely broken rng based trading economy, and still even after season wipe no solution to inactive or dead accounts. It is no wonder they are all inactive, After we waited years for this game just to find out its a buggy, laggy, broken, rushed mess of stolen assets from other games...

Thanks for giving me a place to vent btw.

Just a heads up your just gonna be playing the same content u just did except u will starve and get thirsty faster. Enemies are not hard at all even at lvl 1 only way i have even died on it was from lag. Unless u count this new stupid box enemy u literally cannot kill without the right element and follows u literally forever just waiting for u to lag.

And the crazy thing is they keep comming to the forum to cry about it alltought they claim they stopped playing and uninstalled.

LOL @Salmon get so much hate u have to block replies? xD Check out any comment section literally anywhere about this game and you will quickly realize the overwhelming majority are not happy. We waited years for this game just to learn it was rushed last minute and thrown together with stolen assets from other games. Just look at the steam page for the game. Every post from the devs is about fixing all the broken aspects about this game.

"Every post from the devs is about fixing all the broken aspects about this game." Are you suggesting the opposite is better? No ♥♥♥♥ theyre constantly trying to fix things couple of weeks after launch.

Everybody who didnt like the game already left a couple weeks ago, why are you still here? If you dont like the game then dont play it.

I hate the buggy mess that this game is currently in just like everybody else, but I also love the game, it being non-p2w, and its community. If "overwhelmingly majority" of people dont like it like you said, then there would be barely anyone playing the game.
