Okay but what are those two programs in your startup?
For those who don't know. If you have booted up the game, you now have two new startup programs on your computer. They lack filenames, icons and destinations. one is a long string of numbers that I think is unique to you.
The second is a single number that seems to increase by 1 each time you boot up the game.
Uninstalling the game does not clear it.
Deleting it from the registry does wipe it until you boot the game again and the counter starts again at 1.

What exactly is that?

why do you care? All start up apps have exe file that you should worry about. Those entries don't have anything behind. While it looks strange, nothing is started. Strange? Yes. Harmfull? No.
you do know that the rumor goes around that this game literarly:
-tracks your location via IP
-grabs your steam login ID and all names how you was named in the past
-grabs your paypal informations if you have paypal registred on your steam acc.
-your steam store informations with literarly name and address (if you ever entered that which you need to do if you register for example a paypal account, so paypal can identify your steam purchases easier and you dont need to enter always a verification if the informations match).
-tracking your browser history
-tacking literarly everything else on your steam activities.
-tracking in general wtf you do on your PC.
-it wants your ID if it is mandatory in your country.
-many more rumors.

did you readed neteases ToS? i mean, if they dare to do this in the EU get they literarly a lawsuit so, i live in the EU, if i ever start this game and i notice that any of those informations gets tracked or sold or whatever to china etc. will i lawsuit the heck outta them.

having a suspicious process which sits now in your autostart is EXTREMELY suspicious and malicious aswell. if anything should this get removed if the devs want to gain any trust. noone needs PCxmobile crossplay.
A rumor that is profligated by people who DIDNT read the ToS. Please don't waste other's time making up baseless rumors.

I heard a rumor that you steal people's data.
I heard a rumor that you steal people's ID and paypal information.

Does that mean anything to you? Probably not because it's made up.
If you would like to educate yourself and feel more comfortable I can suggest *edit* the video already shared a few posts ago *
Anyways the point is that it's kind of messed up to do this to people, you're spreading fear for no reason at all.

You have stated that the game is not installed on your PC.

Point A = The Game Point B = Steam Point C = Your PC

You've added the game to your Steam Library (no direct connection to your PC), Steam is on your PC (direct connection)

Someone who knows what they are really doing will get to your PC and everything about you as result of adding the game to your Steam library which is connected to your PC.

If you are so worried about what is going to happen, why did you even add the game to your Steam Library?

You are just further showing you have no understanding of the terms of service and laws of different countries around the world with your misleading information and unnecessary fear mongering.

ngl this gave me a great laugh, imagine unironically typing *blocks* without dying of self-inflicted cringe

This seems like a leftover, or some of the mobile related files. Keep in mind they do have plans to make this game cross platform so that folks can also play on their phone and the like.
...
What a bizarre way of doing things, and somehow it's nearly always mobile developers. I still remember how uninstalling one "cross-platform" game erased my entire \Games folder. -_-

So I think you're a little confused there, adding the game to your library does nothing but tell the system "hey this guy owns the game".

You have to physically hit the install button for any of the files to be transferred onto your PC. It's like saying I added this game to my steam library so they automatically installed this anticheat to my PC before I hit install (this is basically impossible)

Hi again - here's a nifty video by Pirate Software that breaks all of that down as well for folks if you want to check it out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9E9fjCFwXs

Hope this helps!
This video was enjoyable to watch, I do wish he went into a bit more detail on some of the other stuff like the username and password but I'm going to assume they're talking about mobile users or that you guys have a separate launcher to login if you create an account outside of steam?

He also didn't touch on the 2 startup programs which I know was clarified earlier in this discussion but having it said by a game dev such as himself with a 2m subscriber audience would have helped you guys out as well. Unless those programs are getting removed in a future update?

Sorry if it sounds a bit harsh now:
I am interested in what apparently incompetent programmers leave behind on my computer. As I said, from a programmer's point of view it is absolute nonsense and actually a No go if there is nothing else behind it.

Are you currently using windows? I have some real bad news for you regarding 'what incompetent programmers leave on my computer'

Why add more to it?

I could be wrong, that but the ToS doesn't specify which countries are affected by what, so they deserve the backlash they get for being sloppy.

This is the same thing Pirate Software skipped on. It doesn't have to matter that everything is benign, they need to learn to communicate what we are accepting in a better language. Because you are stupid if you think a lot of these terms that apply only to Chinese apply to your country (US or EU anyway), according to Pirate Software, but he said he literally gave the ToS to lawyers so they can give as a 100% informed opinions on it. And even after that, it still stands: How do I know which countries are affected by what?

It's a learning experience nowadays.

No, he mentioned in there that there's no need to even get a lawyer involved as this is basically every game TOS ever.

And he also did state that if the game doesn't ask you for your ID then that stuff doesn't apply to you because one dude even asked him if it applied in France.

I think this is not normal ToS, and they add new elements to the ToS's slowly over time, we will screw ourselves if we don't pay attention (Regardless if normal or not)

As for this ToS, maybe all this is 100% true, but it's not 100% clear in the ToS which is why people are confused in the first place.

See, I think it would be stupid to accept the ToS without question and the truth is the majority of people never read them and thus now don't fully understand the language they use in the ToS.

So that was my point in the first place, better, clearer language. Personally I have issues with another game and it's ToS and not this one, but the whole thing is messy and not as 100% clear as someone as Pirate Software is claiming. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many confused people. Then again, we are all stupid so there is that.

I agree with your findings and thoughts, but, part of the equation that you're accidentally leaving out is that unlike you or I or the person you're responding to, a lot of these people freaking out didn't read it, you can tell by the things they say if they read it or not. I think thats mostly the point of contention even with piratesoftware. That is the problem some have with them. Not necessarily that people dont trust a tos, but that they are repeating false information without even looking into it in the first place. I do agree there's no need to just trust a ToS on it's face value, but the above applies too.

its literal lawyer speak. and your point was that a lawyer was needed when in reality it wasnt and he even stated it in the video, thats what I called you out on. and it is as clear as Pirate Software is claiming, people just wanna be stupid and go with the herd mentality instead of using more than 1% of their brain.

and if everyone's stupid then whos the one assigning that label?
