What's the actual benefit of having an electric furnace?

What's the actual benefit of having an electric furnace?
1) crafting time is the same
2) queue space is the same

Well for one it doesn't require charcoal so your not having to constantly burn wood and make more

Multiple people can use it at once without disturbing the queue and if you get the chainsaw, you can cut down a lot of trees fast and level very fast by making coal.

499 wood instead of 495 for making charcoal :( blah blah

I am the only one using the furnace.
Does it automatically produce charcoal? Do I have to craft anything to make that to happen?
I have the chain saw but the queue is also the same stack and the same number than the other one, I really don't see the benefit here. tbh :(

Oh I see it doesn't need charcoal to smelt ok that's good so now my chainsaw is practically useless :(

Already told you, it doesn't need charcoal to smelt anything. So you save 1 charcoal for everyitem you smelt which really adds up.

yeah but for now on, chainsaw is not even worth having, and all the charcoal I made is basically trash if I keep on using the electric furnace.

no, cause u use charcoal with acid and sulfur to make gunpowder to make bullets (and maybe other stuff)

It still seems odd to me that an Electric Furnace still burns wood logs. I'd have thought the heat would be provided by the electricity itself.

You also craft two things at the same time instead of one.

Some people are specced for improved electric furnace (myself included). It costs less energy to run than normal and is faster. I can also smelt gold/silver bars and get double output of tungsten/aluminum. Acid becomes an issue for end game calibrations once you hit level 40 so having double output on tungsten or an acid farm is going to be a priority for your weapons and armor.
