Cosmetics locked to characters on one server

If you buy cosmetics or the battle pass you will have to rebuy them if you create a new character on a different server!

But what if you make a new char on the same server? Just wondering because I lucked out on the gacha and got female hairstyles....... And I'm playing a dood.

If I understood them during today's dev stream, that is only the case for NOW and should change in August. If I misunderstood, hopefully someone else who was there can correct me.
