Server Wipes will Kill this Game.
I don't care if you keep some stuff and lose some stuff, this game will not survive in the long run like this.
Most people who play it don't even know this game has wipes.

Progress Wipe does not make sense on PVE Servers, on PVP servers i can see it make sense otherwise No.

A lot of people seem to compare this game to other genres on purpose to mislead others but let's not kid ourselves this a Live Service MMO.

-Rust is a PVP only game not a Live Service MMO with Dungeons, Bosses, Events, RPG Mechanics or any PVE content, it's pure PVP and not much fun it's full of cheaters.
-ARK and Conan are Offline Co-op games with optional servers and Private Servers.
-Tarkov is a PVP Shooter why even bring it up?! another cheater haven game.
Path of Exile and Diablo 4 are APRGs this game is not.
For some reason people also mention Cycle Frontier?!
Which got Shut Down last year, yeah a dead game is not a good example to use.

Using any of these games in your argument makes no sense because i can randomly choose a game as well from any other genre to feed my argument but that would not make sense now does it?!
Oh, it's not a full wipe? no one cares even if it was just levels it would still be bad.

Devs need rethink this, they said they are open to feedback which means they themselves are still not sure about it yet, so please make some noise, don't let this game die.
You have a gem of a game in your hands, don't throw it away.

I love this game, i spent money on it because i know the devs deserve it,
and i'm willing to spend another 100 dollars but not with server wipes.

-Please keep it Civil, be kind, this is a Feedback Thread, be respectful.

EDIT: after playing the game for 2 seasons and spending over 200 dollars i completely gave up on the game not because of resets alone but because of another very big issue this game has which is SERVER STRUCTURE, one of the worst i have seen in an online game.

I'm surprised there isn't more attention paid to this, there are a few posts that are picking up traction, but it seems most of it is overshadowed by people screeching about the Privacy Policy more than anything.

I played the latest beta they had and sadly I was not aware of it being F2P or the nasty seasonal wipes, which the latter is why I am not playing, my choice.

I think most people playing right now see the season page and assume it works like other games, they're in for a treat when 6 weeks pass and their characters are back at level 1 among other things.

Based on their posts and other details about this wipe, you'll be grinding from the bottom up all over again, you don't and can't carry over materials you spent hours obtaining from the prior season(s), it's a massive time-sink for the same thing you already did.

My opinion is that, this is terrible, and not clearly stated anywhere aside from a post, that I imagine some people overlooked or skimmed.

Others were, in prior posts, saying it is the same as any other games with seasons, it is not. Other games with seasons don't wipe your progress to start over again, you carry your obtained goodies and move on to the next season to obtain even more goodies over time.

By fresh you mean doing the exact same thing you did before... Only faster. Maybe with a different weapon. Its not fresh if its the same content repeated every 6 weeks.

If the seasons work how they said they'll work, it's different locations and different content.
You really think they are going to completely redesign the world every 6 weeks? I see them probably changing the mob spawns, or swapping around the level of zones... But I highly doubt they are going to do something that big every 6 weeks... Every 6-8 months maybe. But every 6 weeks?

If they do, they are 100% letting AI completely design everything.

I didn't say anything about "completely redesigning" the world, I'm just repeating what they themselves have said. They already have things developed, the whole map isn't currently accessible, we've already seen content that isn't active right now.

"1. What are seasons?

In Once Human, each server has a gameplay theme, which is what we call the Seasonal Scenario. Each scenario offers different seasonal objectives or special gameplay mechanics.

We've crafted a range of seasonal objectives tailored to different scenarios, each packed with unique mechanics, environments, and content. Different scenarios may take place in different areas of the map, including map areas that have not yet been unlocked, and some scenarios will also feature a completely new storyline experience. As you navigate these scenarios, you'll have the thrilling choice to collaborate or compete with other players to achieve your seasonal goals. Once a season concludes, you can embrace a new challenge by joining a different scenario or taking on your current one with renewed vigor."

Theres eternal lands, which you keep your stuff. The seasonal characters transfer to your private (eternal land) but not vice versa.

This way, each season, people will get to redo content with new players- read as not everyone is maxxed when a fresh wave of players starts.

That being said, your BP unlocks stay put so you will always be working on your "collection"... more to the point- the mystical crates dont respawn, so a new season will be a great way to quickly fill out your collection of blueprints to really min-max your build.

Its HELPFUL to vets that seasons are a thing, and also makes new players get a good start with players available of similar level to do quests/bosses. All in all, This is the best I've seen 'season's done and agree with Devs this is a great way to keep the game alive.

Or if you just want to solo with your friends- your progress is there on eternal lands
Honestly just yes, this and their approach to multiplayer/servers in general. Player progress, server limitations, and so on (in PVE) just doesn't fit in my opinion.
everything you have gos to eternaland
that is you're permanent place to farm and build.
every season will add new ♥♥♥♥ for you to collect and put in you're NEVER WIPED ETENALAND base.
The new season will be like living in the multiverse.
Why is it so hard to implement a Seasonal Level? With this Seasonal Level, you have chances to unlock new regions, objectives, and items. Everyone would benefit from this system. The Seasonal Level will reset after the season ends. Buildings will reset (to allow for new building placements). The wipes will kill this game. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. You can also see this in the player base of Diablo 4. Most have said that they quit because of wipes...

Eternaland is an Empty Private Island for Building only AKA Creative Mode.
i don't mind losing resources ect, but losing our deviants and lvl is a bit of a kick in the ass. took me 80 rabbit's to get the lethal rabbit, i'm not having to do that all the time.

I agree, having to grind for the same deviants again is not new content or refreshing!

"Content Inheritance

After completing a season, Meta-Humans can bring the resources and blueprints they have accumulated with them when they sign up to a new season.

In-game tokens, Weapon and Gear Blueprints, Mods, skins, Building Blueprints, titles, in-game friends, etc., will all be inherited directly. Other more basic inventory resources such as materials, components, medicines, ammo, gear, etc. will be transferred to the Eternaland Depot. Before the next season begins, players can decide which resources they want to bring with them as they embark upon their new journey. Think strategically about which resources will give you the biggest advantage."

4. What is Eternaland?

Eternaland is a player's permanent personal mini-world, and serves a stopover for players transferring to a new season. Meta-Humans can step into Eternaland and adjust their mini-world at any time."

Eternaland is a place where items can be permanently stored. Resources accumulated when playing through the storyline, rare collectibles gathered in different worlds, or unique building structures — all can be stored safely in Eternaland.

In Eternaland, buildings no longer have any upper limits or range restrictions. Meta-Humans are free to let their imaginations run wild and create dazzling building structures unfettered by the normal gameplay restrictions. A zoo, an amusement park, or a museum? The sky is the limit! Players are also able to customize the gameplay rules and invite their friends to step into their Eternaland, and experience their creations first-hand."

dude i keep seeing this. no one cares about a closed server where you put a house that no one will see. and has no meaning other then acting as a seasonal vault. with items that will never be allowed into new seasons. it says that also. so i say again. they wipe. many will walk.

That's why I highlighted the parts that state that Eternaland stores your stuff, and is therefore not "building only"

You can also invite people into it, so I'm not sure if you really read it

I can understand wipes on a PvP server, but why do we have to start over from scratch on a PvE server? What's the need for that?
