Rust
Division 1 /2 (Though those are looter shooters, no building, just upgrading and "less survival")
Raft (and any such games where you either survive on the water or in "The Forest" though gotta give it to them, the themes are nice)
Palworld
Sons of the forest
Valheim
Ark games
Conan games
Could probably go on, except Once Human has that phone stuff feel to it + online incorporated heavily and has more of a Division feel to it due to the setting.
I don't want to sound like I'm hating, but the moment I jumped in I was spamming through the cutscenes just to get to see what the game is like due to the weird settings, portals and weird machinehumans, then I parachute in and think after the prologue, damn this gonna be fun since I'm on a PVP server, then I can't damage anyone and the enemies are whack lol, I read you gotta flag yourself, the enemy has to flag himself for PVP and there's certain map areas for PVP, what's the point of a PVP server when that crap is identical on PVE lol.
Shooters... IN SPACE!
Shooters... WITH COWBOYS!
Shooters... IN RUSSIA!
Shooters... DURING WW2!
There's every flavor and variety of shooter games already. It's time to try something else.
Shooters... WITH MINECRAFT!
Wait, that's a thing already with like five clones...
Oh well, combining Fortnite and Rust is close enough to originality that people will play it.
Only 1 of those came out this year, and it's still VERY different. Every genre has a lot of games (you shouldn't have included the Division at all, not even close to the same type of game) and people are free to pick and choose what they're interested in.
Why not include the Division? The game screams Division 2. The setting. The looting of containers in buildings. Except Division 2 has better enemy and AI. The only different part is the setting of camps and simple building here. In division 2 you got checkpoints on the map you go to craft and do stuff with your gear. It's the same thing done differently. Hitting E on trees and rock piles can be equivalented with Division's more advanced chests and such you can loot. It's all just masked loot anyway.
Also Div 2 has PVP in certain parts of the map with special loot. Has better missions anyway and it's all voiced. Then it has a nice loop.
Ps : When you can grab infinite water and "cook it" and carry 20 bottles on you where you can constantly have your thirst filled, that's far from survival or being different from any other game that doesn't have it.
pax die , valheim , son of forsest , Enshrouded
, nightingale , Pacific Drive, Palworld , prolly missed some
This is actually insane that you're trying to compare the two. Division 1 and 2 are primarily loot-based games. The First Descendant is MUCH closer. The aesthetics are comparable on the on the most fundamental "post-apocalyptic" level, core gameplay loops aren't similar AT ALL. Like, looting chests for loot is a fundamental part of every RPG ever. Are Skyrim and The Division the same game? Upgrading is not similar at all, the Division's core loop of upgrading is through finding new loot, not upgrading it. You can't just take two very different gameplay systems and just say "they're the same, but not".
