Unable to Control During Remote Play

When using the Remote Play feature on Steam, I found that the mouse and keyboard were completely unresponsive, making it impossible to play the game.

Had same issue on Steam Deck. I gave up and got it working on the Deck.

Because there is no controller support yet. When you play remotely, the steam emulates controller from client to host as external controller.

This is not entirely true. You can configure the inputs in Steam to emulate a keyboard and mouse. I use it for New World and Soulmask all the time. My guess is that the devs have injected something into the game that blocks external inputs -- possibly to discourage bots or cheaters.

In any case, if I launch the game remotely from my PC and stream it to my laptop it should work just fine, but it doesn't.

Yes, in Steam, but the game doesn't support any other inputs. Anyway, I saw this in the Discord group. Sorry for any misinformation.

I was having this issue then I ran BOTH steam Apps (Host and Client computers) as Admin (close steam via task manager, right click Steam app, "Run as Administrator" on both computers), then I opened the game on Host, then was able to connect via link from Client.

okay, you could start, but what about input(controls from the client)?

has nothing to do with controller support etc. steam deck can emulate keyboard and mouse input just fine.
The game is requesting admin rights on launch and steam remote play has no rights to control applications on admin level.
There are some guides floating around this forum how to cut down the admin rights on this game. but i did not try if it is enough to make remote play able to control the game.

Thanks mate. It works fine. just tried this out!

Confirmed what was written above. Close steam on host PC. Right click and run as admin. Totally works.
