17 hours to download this game

I have a gigabye connection, I can download everything on minutes, yet it took 17 hours to download this game, i tested it on Snowrunner, fall out 76 games that i had uninstalled and they down loaded quick. Chinese servers just wow

Mega story, but you're probably too incompetent to have your steam settings right. I loaded for 15 minutes, as did probably 95% of the other players. If you're the only one having a problem, then you shouldn't blame steam. But what do I know, you're mega experienced 😂

User forgets that they're downloading from Steam's data centres, and not directly from the publisher/developer, and likely has held that belief since 2007.

It's almost like stating how long you've had an account has no bearing on if a matter is true or not, huh...?

Do I break this special little fight up to say that there's many factors that govern data transfer rates, and that this isn't just a purely filesize related matter? It depends on local factors, background processes and how the files are compressed and delivered to the user's machine. Steam's own settings can throttle speeds as well depending on how the user has set it up, and of course this also could be the location the user has set to recieve files on.

There's also the fact that Steam factors in disk drive writing speeds. Which is why you can wind up with what appears to be massive patches or downloads, but most of it is just unpacking compressed files, or other file shenanigans.

But then we've one person with 16 years screaming at someone with 19 years about who "knows" Steam better....

Had download it with 20 MB/s. So at full speed.
