2 new start-up programs?
Any reason for 2 start-up programs to be installed after installing Once Human?
their names arent bring my worries up and not having a file location does seem fishy.

Any tech-heads know what these are?

so how do we remove these? The game is deleted for now but there's no immediately obvious way to remove these 2 startup programs.

If you want to get rid of the two startup files, open registry and paste "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" then delete both AF_counter and AF_uuid. That should get rid of the two startup files that came with the game.

They also don't do anything, because they're not actually an executable, or link, or anything (which is why you can't get properties on them, or go to their file location in the startup overview).

They also have a couple of Shell Hooks (you can see them in Autoruns tool) that leads to nowhere and one temporary *.SYS driver. So yeah they are tracking and monitoring. :steamsad:

So couple of things I noticed, I decided to download this game on 2 different computers and on one of them I Uninstalled the game completely from the one pc, however on startup both comps got the 2 random startup apps and even after completely Uninstalling the game from the one computer it still retained the 2 startup apps, and for some other odd reason on the pcs that I've tested the game on it always hits 100% cpu

No clue so far, I'm just still trying to figure out what the 2 things be in the first place

I mean you dont just place hidden entities with sys or dll or whatever binary files in Windows system services for lulz and giggles while launching the game with Admin rights. They have some purpose, right?

my counter is at 2, lets see how high I can get it

If trying to remove those entries I would recommend using Autoruns and revouninstaller
Should help you guys get rid of that ♥♥♥♥

Yep found the same startup entries after trying this game. Go to start, type 'regedit' & in the bar at the top paste Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You can find and delete the two startup entries there. They are called AF_counter & AF_uuid.

Excessive T&C I can deal with given what any other game gathers information on once you make online purchases,, but random startup entries is bs.

Where are these? And why are you running the game as admin?

Edit: Okay. So it needs elevated right for "reasons". But I still don't see any hidden sys files in any locations.

Look into Sysinternals Autoruns you can find here NEProtect service and steamapps\common\Once Human\NEProtect.sys record that leads to nowhere.
