2 new start-up programs?
Any reason for 2 start-up programs to be installed after installing Once Human?
their names arent bring my worries up and not having a file location does seem fishy.

Any tech-heads know what these are?

so how do we remove these? The game is deleted for now but there's no immediately obvious way to remove these 2 startup programs.

If you want to get rid of the two startup files, open registry and paste "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" then delete both AF_counter and AF_uuid. That should get rid of the two startup files that came with the game.

What are the names? I don't have anything new but I do have weird programs in there called ♥♥♥♥ like "f5845c60-b81c-4baa-a8ae-3490bbd4f9e4 F5845c60-b81c-4baa-a8ae-3490bbd4f9e4". I just disable them since I can't locate them

One is called '1' and the other is similar like yours with differences in numbers and letters.
Disabled it aswel, but surely there are many who dont know it installed these 2 things.
I cant find any reason for these to be put in the startup list either and it feels disgusting to have this kind of unknown on my computer.
makes sense but what im saying is those were already there before and nothing new is there (for me).

If you use Autoruns it shows it as a "AF counter" https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsHelp/comments/1b1260a/two_unknown_files_in_startup_windows_10_af/ at the bottom of the page is another link that elaborates more on what it is.

Not for me they were, these are very new to my start-up list.

Company that tracks install/uninstalls on mobile devices. The string of weird characters is your assigned device ID, the number is the amount of executions/installs you've done of the tracked app.

Why this installs anything in "Startup" on Windows beats me, it does not belong there and is dodgy as hell. The analytics software itself is just that, analytics software. Do with that what you will.

Edit: These 2 values should be in the registry, not in startup. Some intern has no -ing clue how Windows works.

See, people like you are what's needed to try to explain these things, so many are so defensive for no reason like they're being personally attacked lol.

Run it like this and it won't have rights to do crap like this: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "set __COMPAT_LAYER=RunAsInvoker && ONCE_HUMAN.exe --start_from_launcher=1"

The reason you guys can't find the files is because they're registry entries.

Here are the registry entries in case anyone wants to delete em. For now, I've just disabled the startup entries so that I don't have to keep deleting them everytime I run the game:

They also have a couple of Shell Hooks (you can see them in Autoruns tool) that leads to nowhere and one temporary *.SYS driver. So yeah they are tracking and monitoring. :steamsad:

Okay if they're tracking and etc, but what about background process? Because as far as I know they shouldn't run if you don't play the game
