LOL I'm actually enjoying the game very much. It really surprised me, given it's a F2P NetEase game. That doesn't make anything I said less true.
It doesn't make anything I've said less true, either .. our focal points, considering the comment thread, are different, doesn't make either of them false, or wrong.
Just focused differently.
The company which owns NetEase wants to make money, they will (hopefully) make a product that will appeal to as wide an audience as possible, and yes, they really do seem have got a lot of things right with the game .. for me, it's like all my favourite games rolled into one.
So, they want to make money, they also want to appeal to a wide audience, not just a select ethnic or sociopolitical group.
The idea of subverting the 'male' and 'female' roles with a constructed 'Type' seems like a typically clever bit of science-fiction engineering of the reality of the story.
My first comment was to add context and balance, so the conversation isn't lost in YET ANOTHER crybaby festival of 'it's all woke waa waa'.
Sadly, those conversations seem to begin and end all the same way.
Alright, I'll give you that -- we can agree to disagree about the "commie agenda" lol -- that's reasonable of you.
Also there is virtually no difference in saying body type or sex. What does it matter what the phrasing is when ultimately they mean the same thing? Also notice that this practice is terribly common is eastern developed games. It's not even anything new you and tons of others are just noticing. But even before that something was was very common was you pick the sex and then type 1 through type 'x' which should give you a very large hint on what is actually going on here. Lets say type 1 was slim and type 2 was muscular but they never actually described that it was simplified in to simply types.
So, what is actually likely going on here? The body type 1 & 2 between the sexes is likely for ease of translations. Languages can also be more complex when it comes to this. For example in English we say female and male, which is obviously linked and even shares most of the letters. But not all languages aren't all like this.
Japanese: Female - 女性 Male - 男
German : Female - weiblich Male - klein
Hebrew: Female - נְקֵבָה Male - זָכָר
Whether or not you actually can read any of these languages doesn't matter. What matters is the obvious differences in how each are expressed in a unique form when written or typed. This is a big difference between the simplicity of female/male. So it is easier just to throw type 1/2 on there. What you are actually observing is just short cuts being taken that everyone can still easily understand. Just how like how I said this was often used previously with body types like skinny, muscular, and so on rather than actually having to list them in every language they were simply listed as types.
Imagine a man who has an extreme phobia of spiders. This irrational phobia has grown and consumed this man to the point where he sees spiders everywhere he looks. He freaks out no matter where he is and what is actually going on. What would you think of this man? Would you think he is mentally unstable and lost connection with reality? I bet you do think that and yet...
You and countless others have rotted your brain to the point where everything has to be a cultural battle and you see the 'enemy' everywhere you look. You've collectively developed schizoid traits and have become unhinged. You are no different than the hypothetical man with the spider phobia. You no doubt could recognize his madness and yet cannot see your own. I would say I feel sorry for you but you did this to yourselves so I really can't. So even the hypothetical arachnophobe gets more sympathy from me than you do.
The most amusing part about this though is you've basically created your own nightmare. By making this a cultural battle and issue those on the other side of the fence who are either too lazy to realize why these simplified translations exist and just see it as a cultural battle (because you made it one) or some may just like to watch you squirm are starting to adopt it into western games more commonly too now. Whether its their ignorance or sadism it sure the hell is funny. It's like watching the arachnophobe run in fear of a spiderless room only to run into a spider's nest. Creating the very outcome they so irrationally fear.
Good job at destroying your logic and reasoning skills for views that will never benefit you in anyway.
*Edit* Corrected the language from Polish to German.
This is an idiotic argument. There is no "phobia" here, that's just what intersectional grievance-studies majors like to assign to everyone because they can't fathom the rest of the population not being as mentally ill as them.
You drank the Kool-Aid and let yourself get gaslit -- some would call it brainwashed. So many ad-hominem assumptions here lol -- "you've created your own nightmare" lmao -- ah yes, I'm sure it's just a completely made up thing that half the population is noticing but too afraid to speak up about because of brow-beaters like you.
Type 1 .. check
Type 2 .. check
The bio-tanks are ready to be filled with growth nutrients and pseudo-amniotic fluid.
Project May Fly is go.
Right, so you make no actual retort to anything I have said here and lead into straight into conspiracy mindset. Also you aren't even using ad hominem correctly. An ad hominem is used to discredit the person rather than the arguement.
For example lets say John Doe doesn't believe in gravity. He is actively trying to argue on this forum that gravity does not exist. If I were to simply say "You are wrong because you are ugly" to John that would be an ad hominem. But if I were to say
"Gravity is a demonstrable force observed in everyday phenomena, such as objects falling towards Earth. Isaac Newton's law of universal gravitation and Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity both provide frameworks to understand and predict gravitational effects, from planetary orbits to the bending of light by massive objects. Experimental evidence, like dropping objects of varying masses and observing their acceleration, further confirms gravity's existence and behavior. These observations and theories collectively validate gravity as a fundamental force shaping the universe." Then call John ugly outside of the actual argument while my insult may be rude and perhaps uncalled for that would not be an ad hom as it isn't used to discredit his position.
My remarks on the insanity people like yourself display came after my argument on why this occurs (which again you addressed none of) and thus were not part of the actual retort but an expression of the insanity displayed. You are perceiving a world that simply does not exist in everything you are exposed to. Much like the man who sees spiders everywhere hypothetical I gave before it.
The fact is you cannot explain why the "types" options has existed far beyond this was a common topic. Why it started in eastern games where these topics that you wish to associate with are not as prevalent. You are never going to give a rational response back to defend the irrational. So thank you for just proving my point with this nonsensical reply.
Thank you for pointing that out, I mistakenly put the wrong language despite them being radically different.
Besides the game is pretty based as it is, there are "normal" looking men and women and the outfits are full of flair and elegance, there is no agenda in the story whatsoever, the game is alright.
I didn't address your individual points because trying to reason with an unreasonable person is the definition of well -- insanity. And yes, what you made were ad-hominem assumptions because you were implying (and continue to do so) that people like myself are beneath you and stupid and undeserving of a proper argument. So I shall do the same -- I'm done here holmes, keep telling it to the clouds.
Can we just chill out and not fight about stupid stuff? Like another poster said, it's irrelevant and it isn't agenda driven. I have played almost all the content and up until now, I have not seen a single quest or heard a single person trying to push anything.
Plus, the game is based out of a China, yea? They could care less. It's an Amaerican problem and not one that exists here. So unless you are just fighting just to fight then end the conversation and do go do something else.
not every thing is about woke
