If you have low fps despite any change you do..
Change graphics presets and re launch, for some reason this worked for me. Looks like the game has some issues while loading the shaders the first time?

I was trying to figure out why this game was running garbage on my new gaming PC. Could barely get over 60 FPS on lowest settings. I changed everything but my graphic presets also noticed a memory leak about a bit over an hour in down to 40 frames.

Yea was having the same issue, and the thing is that changing the preset to any worked for me. Seems like the game ignore some settings when you not use a preset. Or it could also be what you say. Lucky selecting a graphic preset fixed it for me, now its runs decent even on max.

I have to add that there is some stuttering sometimes and crashes.. gotta love this half baked games..

A few things you can do to improve performance are to update your graphics card drivers, .netframework, clean dust out of your pc and check performance manager to see if programs in the background are not eating system resources. The game has a known memory leak and restarting every few hours can help.

Also a windows service called SysMain meant for indexing and speeding up your ability to rapidly load frequently used programs into ram more often than not actually hurts performance than its intended goal of improving it. So stopping it in your services tab can seriously improve your computers performance.

I was passingly contemplative today. I upgraded my computer a few weeks ago and the game ran better on my older machine with a 1050 that couldnt actually load any of the advanced shaders and lighting effects the new age cards have. Another game I played called it "Dynamic Lighting" and had to do with the gradual light increase/decrease during day/night shifts so it wasnt as jarring. My new card can render all these fancy effetcs but the games themselves slog, where my old 1050 sturggled to load textures and light but the game ran really well.

I remember when I first loaded the game, the options for reducing visual effects in OH were almost non-existant but I havnt checked them in a while. I'll have to tweak things once the servers are back up and see if I can find a compromise.

When you upgraded did you remember to upgrade your drivers or are you playing on default drivers?
