Can you steal from other people?

So i guess wen you kill someone outside in wild space you can loot them... but can you actually save your resources somehow from being stolen? inside a chest of your house? can it be destroyed?

you only lose a part randomly @ full pvp, depending on the amount you carry with you, 1-2 high-level armor pieces or weapons can hurt. As in the betas, it will probably only be possible to raid other bases after a while (a few days) with phase 2, of course the base can be destroyed, but afaik there is also offline protection and defenses.
Don't play on pvp servers if you don't like it.

i read that China law dont allow OPEN PVP... so u can't actually attack other player if that one is not flagged... on discord channel they told me that pvp is totally optional and you can actually totally avoid it

Thats right, like beta 2 you are safe even @ pvp servers, as long as you do not enter pvp mode, get in pvp zones or do not purify echo stones.

depends on the server i played on pve and people can only do to your land what you set permissions to and its individual hive members not the whole hive
non hive members cant touch anything of yours at all

@Xand thats literally not true... Many other Chinese games have open world PVP. This game is being launched with 2 different servers, one is PVE and one is PVP Season. The flagging will probably still be a thing in PVE.

My understanding is that even on a PVP sever your base can only be attacked during purification and even then they can only loot your Stardust Resonant Filter. Best to go and check out one of the video's on the difference between PVP and PVE servers, but it's definitely not a free for all PVP environment.

In the bestas were never got the full pvp effect.
In a pvp server, pvp will be mostly tied to pvp events for resources BUT i remember people saying in the latest playtest that they could attack player bases.
There are turrets are other mechanics.
I think but don't quote me on this: you will be able to attack player bases when the server switches to a certain season(servers last 6 weeks, a week is a season)
