Swimming ?

Is there any swimming, underwater exploration etc ?

From remembering my time in the testing, there was swimming (Crossing a river to access and island), but the water gave you "radiated" which I think either lowered your sanity or health slightly.

It seemed odd to me that one of the random 'perk choices' had to do with swimming. Faster swim speed, more breathe and resist contamination, if I recall correctly. If there's limited swimming, why a full on perk when other perks affect you sometimes minute to minute in game. More swimming in the future or perhaps just a 'forgotten hope' that never manifested.

Stargaze Pizza reciept gives you 1800 seconds of underwater breathing. This should be on point.

I've used C to swim down flooded stairways and when you get past the flooding there are usually tunnels to explore. I've only found a couple of places like that though.

Yeah, you can explore and there even is an atlantis hidden city, won't spoil it.
