very high cpu usage

i run the game on a Ryzen 7 5800x3d and i absolutely love it despite some bugs, but i get insane cpu usage spikes up to 100% from my usual 40-50% it seems to be happening when looking certain directions, would be cool if they could look into this. note all other games run fine on my rig and (all drivers up to date, have re installed, moved the game to another ssd and tried cranking down in game graphics settings)

I have the same issue and I hope they will look into it. The game runs fine on lower specs and I haven't come across any game breaking bugs after 200+ hours, but the optimization of this game is quite problematic, with unresolved memory overflow issues. My advice is to restart after 2-4 hours as it seem to fix itself.

5800x3D /3080 enjoyer here. Same problems. My Rig is about to take of while playing the tutorial. Other games are all fine. Playing in 4k.

same problem here on a 5800x3d x 4070 super. Usage jumps from around 55%-100% constantly. Was worried something was wrong with my hardware until i seen other people having the same problem.

yea i was worried i was alone in this too, hopefully they'll look into this before release :)

yea it runs as hot playing this on high settings as when i run a stress test like cinebench R23 which is insane in perspective

All open world mmo games with building have higher cpu usage than other normal games for example: fallout 76 with 24 players on server.

thats fair but this is till VERY abnormal for it to spike as such on a high end cpu

Same problem on 7800x3d, rtx 4080 - cpu usage 100%. spikes every 3-5 seconds If you exploring the world

same and my cpu is old 9900K
and my GPU is 6800 XT

and i found a solution, from game settings cap FPS solved it for me.

This stuff is entirely related to FPS limits.

I have a 4070ti and 13900K.

unlimited FPS = 100% CPU usage
120 FPS cap = 80-90% CPU usage
60 FPS cap = 40% CPU usage

Since this isn't a competetive shooter, but a mmo, you wont see any difference at all with this 60 FPS cap.

I am getting the same issue with a etc 3070. And limited fps to 60 and my cpu was at 100 for most of the game.

if i enable vsync (60 fps limit) my cpu double the utilization, and was near 90 / 100% , without is around 45% , weird behaviour

Maybe tune your cpu in your bios. Mine barely gets over 55% usage. And I’m running everything maxed with FPS capped to max too. On 3440x1440p with a RTX 4090 and AMD 7800x3D running at 124FPS plus
