Server Instances
Will both PVE and PVP Servers all be instance based on launch?

Yes, you can switch your character between any server instance easily, but not between servers, I am not sure what the max instances is per server. Most I have seen is 10.

So on PVP servers you can literally switch servers pick up your base and move it essentially running away from people / harrassing them?
Also i've heard u cant attack other people bases is that confirmed?

Ahh I think that might be mistaken.

When you create your character, you select what type of server you wish to join, for example - on the test, I joined 'Manibus PVE'. Everything in there will be PvE and will never be able to join PvP on that character.

Inside that PvE world, you can switch to up to 10 different servers which are all linked to eachother - these will all be PvE all connected to the main 'Manibus PvE' server.

Long story short - PvE and PvP will not clash, you will need seperate characters on each main server.

Yes you are correct, kind of on both accounts, There are very few occasions where you can attack a player base at all in this game, So no need to for running away. I am a PvE player mostly so don't understand the full rule set but to my understanding there is very little difference between a PvE and PvP server. This is what is available in both PvP and PvE servers;
You can hold P to enter PvP mode.
You can participate in mini Events that are PvP around the map.
You can join a warband and fight for control over resource producing areas.
You can purify chaos cortex at your base, during this time you are auto flagged for PvP and your base takes damage
In addition to this on PvP servers only you get auto flagged for PvP in the following situations;
You are purifying the normal cortex at your base
You are collecting resources from one of the mining posts that require a permit
Edit; I have been doing further reading and the chaos cortex may not be available in a PvE world, I was told it was but I never tried this myself. later in the season more differences open up. The biggest differences are between the endgame, there are also some differences between the deviants you can get, which may explain why you cannot take them back to Eternaland.

Yes the other post is correct, you can switch between instances but not between servers

There are multiple servers running different seasonal scenarios to choose from (Season: The Prime War, Season: Call of Evolution, Season: Who Wants to Build a Snowman?, etc.).

Within that, there are multiple server types to choose from (PvE, PvP).

Within that, there are multiple server names to choose from (A, B, C, D, etc.)

Within that, there are multiple worlds (channels/instances) to choose from (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.). This is the only one that can be switched at will using the same character (by visiting a teleportation tower within the game). The rest your character can not switch between.

Sorry I think I mispoke I meant different instances on a pvp server? I played on demo pve server my mate logged in on same server and was different instance no biggie we swapped happy days.
Real questions is pvp server 1 instance that it or same deal ? I get griefed on a server by Joe I can switch instance on the same server away from Joe and that's it - or I'm stuck with Joe and his 50 mates

What? Didn’t know that we could fight over oilfields on the PvE server?

Yes this is correct, all servers (including PvP) will be instance based, On release they have said they will expand/contract them as necessary. Yes you could just switch to a different instance and that is is it, He would then have to search everywhere on the map on every instance to find you again. There is almost no ability to grief in this game anyway, as it stands where you build is the biggest form of griefing. The devs allows building in some areas that should be restricted as it stands, hopefully this will be fixed on release but I don't know.

This is also correct, in order to engage in a standard area you would have to hold 'p' for PvP mode and hope the other player does the same.
