Also i've heard u cant attack other people bases is that confirmed?
When you create your character, you select what type of server you wish to join, for example - on the test, I joined 'Manibus PVE'. Everything in there will be PvE and will never be able to join PvP on that character.
Inside that PvE world, you can switch to up to 10 different servers which are all linked to eachother - these will all be PvE all connected to the main 'Manibus PvE' server.
Long story short - PvE and PvP will not clash, you will need seperate characters on each main server.
You can hold P to enter PvP mode.
You can participate in mini Events that are PvP around the map.
You can join a warband and fight for control over resource producing areas.
You can purify chaos cortex at your base, during this time you are auto flagged for PvP and your base takes damage
In addition to this on PvP servers only you get auto flagged for PvP in the following situations;
You are purifying the normal cortex at your base
You are collecting resources from one of the mining posts that require a permit
Edit; I have been doing further reading and the chaos cortex may not be available in a PvE world, I was told it was but I never tried this myself. later in the season more differences open up. The biggest differences are between the endgame, there are also some differences between the deviants you can get, which may explain why you cannot take them back to Eternaland.
Within that, there are multiple server types to choose from (PvE, PvP).
Within that, there are multiple server names to choose from (A, B, C, D, etc.)
Within that, there are multiple worlds (channels/instances) to choose from (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.). This is the only one that can be switched at will using the same character (by visiting a teleportation tower within the game). The rest your character can not switch between.
Real questions is pvp server 1 instance that it or same deal ? I get griefed on a server by Joe I can switch instance on the same server away from Joe and that's it - or I'm stuck with Joe and his 50 mates
This is also correct, in order to engage in a standard area you would have to hold 'p' for PvP mode and hope the other player does the same.
Thank you so much you've been a massive help
