My over all thoughts on the game
Difficulty.

None-Existent, To test this I ran around all the map we could with just the starting gear, never one did I die.

No mods, just the crossbow and machete, did bosses no problem. Never once did I die, the enemies do so little damage and attack so sparsely you can easily run into large groups and take them down with no problems.

Why is there even levels? Like for real I can two shot so many things triple my level, the only time I had to put into the most bare amount of effort was large Hp enemies. If I can do this with the starting gear man, how easily a well equipped player can wreck anything in this game must be mind fumblingly easy to the point you do not require any effort at all.

I am no try hard either its that bad imo and I get why you did this partly, your seasonal system if you have to make the game super super super easy so people can constantly rush through it

Seasonal System.

This will slowly kill your game, all the PVE crowd might do a couple of seasons but after doing the same stuff over and over and regrinding every SIX WEEKS. They will quickly get burnt out and simply move on.

This will make the game go towards PVP because only the PVP players will enjoy themselves, and once that Happens the rest of the PVE crowd the few that stick will go.

This game isn't RUST or Tarkrov, it wasn't built from the ground up for PVP, You guys clearly added this seasonal systems mid way through development, why I do not know, maybe you couldn't come up with enough content and are using this to hide that.

If you where just going to wipe PVP servers I could get that but PVE naw, Heck I could understand wipes for PVE to if you guys let us keep everything, and let us save our base so we could just re put it down,

Why should I waste hours making a new well looking base if your just going to scrap it? You think I want waste hundreds of hours making a house over and over and over and over.

I heard someone say we will get new maps but honestly anything who thinks the maps will be "new" is coping, you guys cannot come up with new maps every six weeks, what you will do is either take the same map and just move the same stuff around or use AI to help generate a new one. Six weeks isn't going to be enough time to do this manually to make something you could actually consider "new"

and no people there will be no private servers and Eternal Land it just a private island where you cane build a house that doesn't get wiped and keep a couple of items.

I honestly don't know how you expect people to redo virtually the same stuff every six weeks, with minor changes and there will only be minor changes, again I don't think people realize how short six weeks in game development, there will be minor changes per season and that will be all. The first few seasons might have more as they had time to prepare but after that, The quality will plummet to the ground

"Survival"

technically this is a survival game and I mean TECHNICALLY in the most basic brain dead sense, because food, water and the occasional need to sleep are the only survival mechanics and even then after you make an oven which you can do in 30 minutes those become an after thought, If someone honestly starves or dies of lack of water in this game they better hope no one sees because you literally have to try to die that way.

I would not consider this a survival game at all, the enemies are of no threat, there is no sense urgency to really care to watch your food and water levels, you are basically sponge bob going through the map like "lalalalalalalalala"

The games theme is fine, I have no problem with that, The melee combat can be clunky occasionally but its not bad, the shooting is fine,

I legitimately feel sorry for players who never got to experience Once Human before it was completely gutted by CBT3 because they never got to play the absolute gem this game used to be. It is heartbreaking to see a game I easily imagined myself sinking years into now in a state that can't hold my attention for more than an hour.

It wasn't just combat difficulty that changed either. Everything was more challenging. Progression through the memetic tree was slower and you had to earn that advancement by defeating bosses that were actually challenging. Survival mechanics like obtaining good food and clean water took a lot more effort; keeping your character healthy and fit was actually a thing (and one that most players struggled to succeed with). Even just maintaining a prospering garden took some effort.

Now none of that is true and the game just throws progression at the player as quickly as possible, probably to help you consume all the content so you can be ready for the seasonal wipe after 6 weeks and do it all over again.

So much effort was put into creating this virtual world and to see it wasted like this.. I don't know what they were thinking.

From what I hear the game was so MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH better back in the second beta, i am truly sad I did not get to exprience it, rather I get this game that was dumbed down for five yearolds and will quickly turn into a cash grab attempt

When a good game gets ruined its a sad day, this is clearly going to turn into a cheap money grab with a battle pass.

Such promise ruined...

They want this to be some kind of PVE Fortnite survival(ish) game.
Except when litterally dropping out of the sky, the "shroud/circle",
are the quests you've completed. At the end of your playtime..

You just have to do it all over again in the next match, which takes 6 weeks.

Its also on mobile, so thats why they made it as easy as it is.

I do like some aspects of this game very much, but sad to see it go this way.

I've been playing the game for the first time and I have to agree. The game is so easy that I might as well be playing Palia or some other "cozy" game. Unless they add some difficulty back in I won't be playing it on release. I enjoy the aesthetic and the rift space weirdness but the game play itself is almost sleep inducing.

Couldn't they just add World Tiers like Outriders that maybe you have to complete some challenges in the tier before it to unlock? That way players that want to chill can stay in World tier 1 or 2 and players that want more challenges can go to higher tiers 3 or above.

Higher tiers should remove the basic easy enemies and start populating with harder elites. Bosses should require groups the higher you go up in tiers. Everything should become a nightmare the higher you go basically. Or they could just have tier servers. Basically like world tiers but the server is locked to certain difficulties.

Personally, I like the current difficulty but I'm not decking out anything really. I'm running solo since it's just a demo but not sure anyone I know would play this anyway. I'm just taking my time, exploring and figuring stuff out. I'm older now so don't play difficult games anymore since I don't find them fun like I used to. But having some type of tier difficulty system could solve the problems, at least IMO. I'd be able to chill on tier 1-3 and you guys can get wrekt on tier 9-10 while laughing about it. O-o

To each their own.

EDIT: Enemy A.I. needs a lot of work since they are easy to dodge and offer no real challenge. Making smarter A.I. might also help with a tier system.

The AI needs a total overhaul from damage, to damage taken and behavior but I doubt we will get this and its fine if you like the game this easy I guess but for most people its just.....so boring

I will probs play one season but thats going to be it, but I highly doubt Imma be able to even finish it if the game remains this boring,

I cannot imagine playing through as you said such sleep inducing gameplay over and over and over every six weeks after restarting

For what? to unlock a weapon....yay not worth it fam

I can agree on the difficulty, there is no real threat in the open world. Only threat there is is when u play a PvP server and the threat are other players. PvE difficulty seems like a 2 shot chore where as unique enemies are.... not unique? In a dangerous way that is. Worse case scenario I got frozen by a fridge, had 2 zombies slap me while frozen... Still had more than half my hp left and that was supposidly in a "higher level area". This makes u think twice about the "unique" enemies and realize they aint a threat so you just blast trough the area's doing your thing with 0 risk of dying

There is no difficulty because this is just another mobile game released on steam lol.

From what I understand it didn't start out in development as a mobile game it started out has a PC game but three things essentially made them dumb the game down to the mind numbing child playground we have now.

1. They are putting it on mobile and ya mobile games by nature cannot be hard because of limitations.

2. People who are absolutely terrible at games cried it was to hard and so it got dumbed down to their level

3. The season model, the game cannot be hard or grindy if they are going for six week seasons it just cannot be otherwise it would take far to many people to long and they would fail to complete the seasons resulting in the devs losing money because no one will buy their skins or battlepass (yeah the game is coming with a battlepass the Chinese version has it already)

So you put these three things together and the result is what we have now

Ah I wonder why they went that route and yea this just feels/plays like all the other generic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ p2w zombie "survival" games on mobile released on steam to now tbh.....

Pretty much we know from people who played the second closed beta progression used to be harder like stuff was locked behind bosses, there was more survival mechanics it wasn't as easy to make or manage things, the enemies where A LOT TOUGHER to the point they ACTUALLY could KILL YOU if you weren't careful so there was actually a sense of danger and risk.

More things to, but we lost all of that and got what was in the demo instead

I think the game would be easier for me if I didn't NEED to reach across the keyboard to press "F" since I use arrows, NumPad and surrounding keys. Having the one key used 90%+ of the time locked makes it very uncomfortable and annoying for me personally.

My gameplay is made more difficulty because I have to stop, find the "F" key and press it once or twice each and every time I have to interact with my base benches, opening doors, picking up loot, opening crates, picking up enemy weapons and barrels and I believe backstabbing and other such tasks. I don't have time to actually judge the difficulty because most of the time I'm looking for the hardocded "F" to do everything. SO many things require that one key and they go and hardcode it. WTF?

One thing I've noticed with games marked "Survival" is you have players like my nephews that want it hardcore like No Man's Sky on a hostile planet in the very beginning of a game where you are literally dying as soon as the game starts and you are running around as fast as you can to stay alive and doing that the whole game.

Than there are players like me that hate that type of extreme survival and want it more like Valheim where we do not have to micro manage our thirst and health all the time and can chill. Minimal micro management but with all the other survival crafting and gathering stuff.

Unless there is some kind of tier/difficulty setting players can increase and decrease to fit their playstyle I do not see both sides being happy with the same product. There needs to be a way to turn up the difficulty for players that want more of a challenge including increased thirst, hunger and sanity loss and more difficulty enemies.

To each their own.
E. Jun 12, 2024 @ 12:28pm
NMS is chill as heck tho.

Honestly to me the game is stuck between people who want CBT 2 and the current game we have now.

I want CBT 2 without the weight management feature even I think thats just to much, with a better balanced capture devain system, I actually want to work to make my pals "stronger" in a persistent world that is update with new content
