Please voice the player character!

The protagonist, the main character, the players, after all, needs to have a voice, to speak. Being a mute character ruins the immersion and makes him look like a complete idiot. Please dub the protagonist, it doesn't make sense for him to be mute.

Our characters spoke in CBT2, but by CBT3 the entire story (and the dialogue) had changed and those voice-overs no longer fit. I think people are expecting/hoping they are being worked on and will return, but I think if they were returning they would have shown up in the demo.

Missing from the beta is one thing, missing from the demo which is supposed to be their best foot put forward to drive interest, is different.

The game launches in a month, so we'll see.

I was surprised to see so much dialogue missing in the demo. Really hope they work this on release, otherwise it will look really unpolished.

Nah In CBT2 he/she was fully voiced. They disabled some lines in CBT3. I think the demo was based on CBT3

This, the story has being in the process of being rewritten since CBT2, the progress has not been updated much since, the demo was the same build as CBT3. It is likely the character will be fully voiced in the release version.

Just so we're clear, we don't know whether the character will be fully voiced or not in the release version. It's a hope, an expectation based on the fact that our character had its own voice acting back in CBT2. But it is also true that we have lost several features since CBT2 and not all of them will be coming back.

So I wouldn't say it was likely, especially given this developers track record with making this game worse over time. Possible, sure. It's also possible the game will go full Pokemon by launch. But likely? Let's just say I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Also (and this is just an opinion) the voice acting wasn't that great to begin with, unfortunately. And the voice actors had a habit of rewording their statements from what was appearing as text on the screen (which I personally find annoying.. I don't care which version of the line is used, just use the same line on both).

It was mentioned by a liaison to the dev team in twitch chat about 6-8 weeks ago the intention was to have the main character fully voiced. I do not know this for certain though. Hence my use of the word likely.

I remember that (I believe it was a Once Human Discord moderator who mentioned that), although I have seen the Discord moderators providing incorrect information before. Heck, I remember some of the Discord moderators being unaware the game was planning to use a seasonal model.

I don't think they're intentionally giving wrong information, I just think there are limits to how often/easily they can communicate with someone at Starry Studio and sometimes they have to speculate. So it's hard to know what is accurate.
