Exactly what is this, and why should I let it have access to my machine? I selected cancel on it, and the game logically failed to launch. I see that it is a Chinese tech company, and there have been rumors of another Chinese tech company Huawei spying on users, so I just want to know is this thing safe? What does it have access to when it is running? Will it uninstall when I uninstall the game? Etc...

EDIT: Tried again, admin mode and a few other steps (without making myself vulnerable) and didn't work. Also the discord is full of bots, comments like "take my money", "game is awesome, how can it be free?" no help from administration so far. HUGE RED FLAG.

Then don't play the game, why are people always whining and complaining. If you don't trust Netease don't play their game. People here talk like their info are actually worth something, but the truth is they are not even worthy to be spied on. It's 2024 and I can't believe people are still asking questions as stupid as this, yeah yeah I think the game will have access to all the porn stored in your PC lmao. I have never heard a game on steam can't be uninstalled, is that even a thing? You know you can always just drag the entire folder to your Recycle Bin and delete it right? If you don't know it already, the US government also spy on people all the time, that's why they always know everything going on in their own country and around the world. They even spied on Donald Trump, think about it for a second.

NetEase isn't an anticheat, it's a publisher notorious for overly predatory and excessive monetization to the point of nearly ruining a game. Again, I point to the fact that they were the ones who made Diablo Immortal. I don't care about the spying or whatever, half of these companies are owned by tencent or selling your data to china anyway. What I do care about is getting invested in a game for a year and then it pulls an Archeage.

Its not really bull crap. Many Chinese internet companies have a history of being used by the CCP to harvest your personal data. Huawei and Tencent are two huge examples, but Tik Tok and Temu have also been used to do the same thing.
