BP is for cosmetics. Its a f2p game. They have to bring in money from somewhere.
Those beginning bosses are tutorial lol you haven't seen anything yet. Later on you fight real bosses that you can also control the difficulty when entering the instance.
I think you may be missing the point.. the whole game used to be a lot more challenging than it is currently. In CBT2 the survival aspects were something you actually had to pay attention to. Heck, players were having problems just managing their character's body weight/diet properly. Most people looked like they were starving.
And the first boss was actually wiping groups. "Bring a team and at least a thousand ammo each!" used to be the first piece of advice everyone would offer, and getting the components needed for ammunition back then at early levels was a lot of work. Now I have more ammunition than I know what to do with within a few minutes of leaving the tutorial.
You're not wrong for not liking a theme. No one's ever "wrong" when it comes to tastes. You just don't like this. Find games in themes you like :)
I'd love to know your thoughts on what wouldn't be "cliché" in 2024. Entertainment media has struggled for a long long time to come up with interesting new stuff that's not just a confusing mind bending attempt. At least this isn't just a zombie game with your typical warcraft abominations, gargoyles, and other halloween monsters. There aren't *that* many "paranormal" themed games out there.
This is by far the most fun the wife and I had since WoW: TBC release.
For me that doesn't sound fun at all haha. I have games like MilSims I play for when I want that "real life" play style. I'm so thankful that the survival part is the way it is, it would just not be fun imo for this style of game.
To each their own, I think a lot of people that would otherwise not play a shooter will be coming over. My wife being a prime example, she would not be caught dead playing any type of shooters. Got her to try out the beta with me and this is her fav game now... I love it!
I'm not sure what you mean when you say "thankful that the survival part is the way it is", because the survival gameplay is nearly nonexistent now, where as previously it was a pretty major element of the game. There is zero challenge to it at the moment, to the extent that it might as well not even exist.
That leaves us with a poorly told story and janky combat that has had its difficulty nerfed into the ground. The most interesting thing this game offers at the moment is building, and even that got negatively impacted by the adjustments to pacing and the loss of survival challenges. Progression through the memetic tree used to require more than just leveling up; getting access to functions like power generation or water purification were a really big deal. Now you can unlock them within your first hour of playing. It's nuts.
And intentional, because they want to move everyone through the content as quickly as possible so you finish your character and are ready when they delete it in six weeks and then have you do it all over again.
I'm kinda interested to this game but damn that tutorial boss is terrible. If I'm not investing in the game that would be the moment I uninstall the game.
Slow ass boss just standing there taking all the shots no skill require. What a great way to introduce the game to new players. I hope they change that part otherwise many would have bad impression like this too.
Thats a such a bad take - this tutorial boss isnt there to showcase you a boss battle. Its for getting first impression on gunplay and using deviants in battle. Since when u face real bosses with mechanics in tutorial in any game? You literally fight first story mode boss like 2-3 hours into a game. Basically in every game u hit dummies at the beginning to show player than he can click that and press this to do fight.
Like dude, its TUTORIAL, what do you expect...
