Why admin rights?
Why does the demo need to run as admin on Windows? No game should ever require that, this is a security nightmare.

Completely agree. To be clear this doesn't appear to be for an update or component installation, but the actual application needs to run with elevation. In my case it is also not because it has been installed to the 'Program Files' directory. If the application is compromised at any point so is your PC.

I only scooped this up during my annual Next Fest trawl, uninstalling it now.

Probably has to do with the anti cheat software included. Its not an excuse, but most peoples data has already been scooped by all types of software these days. Data is $$$. Companies always sneak this stuff into their products.

The anti cheat measures in place are crap. The game is full of cheaters, and yet, the player has to give full admin rights. This is a serious security concern. Better to stay away from this one, at least till they've fixed this.

I think the chances of them ever addressing this are extremely low. It's not as if they're unaware this is happening, or unaware of the impact. They chose to release the game like this regardless.

I am gonna assume you have no idea how computers work. I am also going to assume you have no idea how game files work, much less files in general. I am ALSO also going to assume you are just ♥♥♥♥ posting out of boredom of game down till launch.

I think you're unaware of how computers work, or what giving admin privileges means. It lets you bypass security features in your own computer mate, and allows the game to launch files without restriction or perform searches on your computer without alerting you.

Essentially what's happening is the equivalent of installing cameras in your home to "protect" against domestic violence. Things like Riot's Vanguard, etc, should NEVER had been allowed to go through. Does it stop cheaters? 100%. But so do traditional means, if slower and requiring more effort. Yet it is NEVER okay for companies to demand unfettered access to your. YOUR. computer and files. I don't care what reason they have.

If you're not guilty, why not just let cops search your car/home, amirite?

Yeah this is just unbelievably janky, this is the second Chinese game I've seen trying to force admin access.

Lol, they dont want to hear that, they just want to complain.
UnknownFox Jun 18, 2024 @ 2:48pm
Good amount of the game I have played have always asked for Admin, seems pretty common and just a fear tactic being used.

Give examples (the more you provide the more likely there is overlap to verify).

Note: If you name 10 gacha games people are going to sigh heavily.
