By the way, this might be one of the questionable thing that might trigger a phone verification. Same PC, or one PC and one phone and trying to have multiple accounts coming from same local ip address...
Last resort is to contact support@discordapp.com and explain why and maybe they allow you in... Then trigger again. lol.
Things did change. Icarus reversed it, which also implemented it.
Calling me a "Karen" because I dare to be concerned over handing over my PHONE NUMBER PERMANENTLY to discord? I can't remove it afterwards, it won't let you. You trade it in for another phonenumber. There's no going back after you put it in.
The developers have the reasonable decisions NOT to use privacy breaching tech that goes beyond anything any other platform has done.
Sorry. wont happen, have enough sms and advertising spam as it is.
And no, i don't trust any commercial entity to not at some point divulge that info.
Discord for years worked without this feature, and the majority of discords, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and not, do not use it.
Please stop defending the lack of privacy.
Not hard to google why discord is being strict with identity and enforcing channels to keep civil.
And by saving personal information, a single data breach can have the ENTIRETY OF THE US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT coming down on their ass like it did for the Sony breach.
And. Yet again. Bigger games, bigger communities don't have this requirement.
