The game usually auto-saves at checkpoints instead of being able to manually save.
You can force the game to auto save if you walk to certain places on the map, a little bear logo should appear on the screen, to indicate the game is auto-saving.
Can you also please check that you are running both the game and launcher as an administrator and the save file is not set to 'read-only' mode, as this can prevent your game's progress from being written.
To check if your files' permissions and run as admin, please see this guide >
https://www.ubisoft.com/help?article=000060505
Your South Park game files should be located here by default >
- %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\South Park - The Stick of Truth\save
- SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\South Park - The Stick of Truth\South Park - The Stick of Truth.exe

Sorry to hear that despite following the steps we provided you continue to have trouble.
You mentioned you are launching the game as administrator, can I check that you are also running Ubisoft Connect as admin?
Many thanks,
- Ubisoft Support

thank you for helping me, i do want to play both game
Hey! Thank you for your reply. You do indeed need Ubisoft Connect in order to play.
Try launching the game directly from Steam again, this time it will open Ubisoft Connect and link the game to your account.
If you need further help please let us know.
Thank you.

you misunderstood my word. i trying to tell you my game <south park the stick of truth> cant link to ubisoft connect. <<i bought both south park game in same time, only one get added into my ubisoft account>> may be it is huge bug happened when buy a bundle ubisoft game in steam store. i bought a lots of Ubisoft game in steam store, this is the first time the game didn't added into my ubisoft account. my ubisoft account name is ismiooo you can check it
I apologize for any misunderstanding earlier, to clarify >
South Park The Fractured But Whole will need linking to a Ubisoft Account and the Connect launcher, as written on the Steam store page
BUT >>>
South Park The Stick of Truth, does not need linking to a Ubisoft Account or the Connect game launcher, as this disclaimer would be on the game's Steam store page, so I apologize for any incorrect information that was given earlier in the thread
With this in mind, the game supports cloud saving by default, can you please select Stick of Truth from your library, next to the Play button, do you see a little cloud logo that says 'CLOUD STATUS Up to date' ?
If you then select the game's Properties > General > Steam Cloud, do you have this checkbox selected where it says 'Keep game saves in the Cloud for South Park Stick of Truth' and can you see how many bytes are stored?
This will allow us to see if the game is making any save progress at all to the Steam Cloud, and if this may be where the issue is being created with save files being inaccessible.
Please also bear in mind, this game only runs on Windows, not Mac Or Linux, in case you are using another operating system, as this is what could be causing issues with save games too.
-Ubisoft Support
0 bytes stored / 953.67 MB available
Thanks for getting back to us Ismio!
Did you also see if 'Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud' was ticked?
If so, for testing purposes, could you please untick this, then relauch the game and see if the saving issues still persist?
We can then try and narrow down if this is specific to the Steam Cloud feature.
Thank you!

i unticked it and it didnt work. auto save didnt work and when i manually save, it say <the file was not found> so I suspect the game is not associated with the save folder or the save folder is not create. Can I manually add the save folder to the game root?
I'm looking for help at somewhere else and I found a lot of people with the same problem
Thanks for getting back to us with more information.
Could you try installing the game in a new Windows user profile to see if it helps with the rights issue ? I've seen other players who have managed to save the game this way. This could also help us isolate the source of the issue, depending on the result of that test.

see #12 above the solution from Ubi-Akatsirin solved the problem. it work
you can change Windows account in start menu bottom left and play the game normally in a new Windows user profile
i can play the game normally in a new windows user profile. I redownload this game in new windows user but i don't think I need to
Looks like the problem is Ubisoft's anti-piracy mechanism as i guessed. one of the most criticized places for Ubisoft. this anti-piracy mechanism only persecute genuine players through formal channels, start with very beginning Ubisoft's assassin game.
problem solved not perfect but i take it. thank you for helping. I will share this to other community
Thanks for getting back to us to let us know that saving seems to work on another Windows profile. We appreciate you using this information to assist other members of the community.
We'll pass your comments, regarding the use of DRM, on as feedback.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
