How to switch back to ranged interaction when pressing F....

So Im in the school and fighting gingers. There's the tutorial where you have to use F to use the Buddy Command so your party member interacts with the world somehow. But now I can't figure out how to switch back to having F being the aim button for your ranged weapon out of combat. Little help?
