Dire Aids Won't Stick

I'm trying to get Dire Aids for the achievement, but for some strange reason it won't stay on my character after a battle. Why?

I did visit the clinic to see what it was when I first entered Canada, but I haven't gone back there at any point. I got bit by snakes several times and saw the pink ribbon but then when I won the battle the Dire Aids somehow cured itself.

Are you sure? Worked for me. Maybe it's your armour or something. In battle if they are there 'Dire aids' should appear above your character's head.

If you were blocking then you won't get it.

I wasn't blocking at all. I tried again with no armor, got the ribbon next to my health bar, but as soon as the battle ended I lost the ribbon. Did I somehow get an AIDS vaccine?

And do you have it the next battle?

Nope, it's gone.

I tried replaying from a save point before I entered Canada, made a manual save just before entering in case I screw things up, and I'm letting myself get infected just before entering Banff (since that is 100% chance). I don't have any third party programs running that are touching the game, and I'm loading up the point just before going to Banff from a manual save after restarting the game. This is very frustrating.

I definitely haven't touched the clinic on this pass... what could be causing the ribbon to disappear?

I have the Let It Slide perk which is the only thing I can think of that might affect it somehow.

Yep, I see the rainbow effect in the video and everything, using that particular snake enemy, but it just vanishes post-battle. I am clueless.

Let It Slide is the only thing I can think of, because when I get Dire Aids it shows up as 997 turns remaining, unless I get bit twice in which case it shows the infinity symbol. Either way it still disappears after battle.

Too bad you can't remove perks... wish I could edit my save to remove it.

I submitted a support ticket to Ubisoft, so hopefully someone there can help. This is definitely a bug, but I guess since not everyone picks that perk it was a non-obvious bug.

Do you have a save close to canada before you got that perk?

Unfortunately, I don't. I got the perk early on in the game. Worst case I may do a speed run without that perk once I get all the other achievements. The Chinpokomon one bugged on me as well and I can't find a way around that one.

Got the same problem. Aids doesn´t stick around after battle. Is there a solution for this or at least a workaround like the one for the dissapperaring Chinpokomon?
