Mage Build.
In preperation for the quest dlc I screwed around with my characters equipment and mods to create the deadliest character I could. I think I've excelled myself.
Feel free to post your own builds.

Mine:
Mage.

Abilities:
Dragon Breath: Fully upgraded.
Dust of dreams: 1 point.
Lightning Volt: 1 point
Funnel of Frost: Fully upgraded
Pyre Ball: Fully upgraded

Equipment:
SWAT Helmet. Grants free attack after kill.
Mage robe: Grants 25% more fire damage.
Witch gloves. Grants 20% more fire damage.

Equipment mods.
Mage robe:
100 health healed per hit
250 more health restored when healed

Witch gloves:
5 pp restored per fire damage hit.

Weapons.
Fairy princess sword. Ignores defences.
Chakaram. Bounces to six targets as long as three remain. Causes bleeding

Weapon mods.
Fairy princess sword:
25% more damage deflected when blocking.
20% more damage deflected when blocking.

Chakaram.
Inflicts 100 gross damage.

Notes:
When I attack an enemy with Dragon Breath I almost completely restore my hp and pp. If I kill a target with this attack, as I usually do, then I get another attack. This character can do 8-9k damage with this attack.
(Sweet katana is the most powerful weapon in the game is it? LOL)

Should the mood take me I can inflict gross and bleeding status effects on an entire group.

When I block the damage I take is reduced from thousands to hundreds.Seen as I don't really need a weapon for attacking this is a much more effective use.

Funnel of frost can slow enemies at the same time as debuffing the hell out of them. Great with bosses.

Pyre ball just destroys everything.

With 2 points left I decided to maximize damage on both of the remaining abilities.

Super late but I wanted to thank you for this build. It's the only mage build I found on google. Guess everyone else picked Jew? Anyways. Thanks again. Mage is very fun and VERY OP!

I love playing thief it’s truly broken.

Get any weapon patched that adds bleeding onto certain weapons alongside the perks that increase damage against bleeding and it gets absurd.

The ultimate example early on is getting the patch from the homeless guy outside the U store it and get the bar darts.

The synergy is strong.

in abilities 1 point means that u give one point to each or means that u didnt give anything?

SUPER late but i was replaying this like crazy the last few days and was trying to make a max level (15), end of the game, nuking fire mage. Here is what i got:

Abilities- The only two that matter are Dragons Breath and Pyre Ball, max em out. But i also maxed out Lightning Volt and put last two in Funnel of Frost.

Perks:
Pyromaniac
Sucker Punch
Apprentice
All Outta Bubble Gum
(Only listed the damage increase ones, didn't get a ton of friends on my mage.)

Equipment:
Mage's Cap of Power
(+2 max PP)
(gain 3 PP on perfect attack)

Mage's Robe of Might
(+25% fire damage)

Witch Gloves
(+20% fire damage)

Equipment Patches:
Weightlifting Patch
(+10% abilities damage)

Superhero Patch
(+20% abilities damage)

Ghost Pepper
(+25% fire damage)

Flame Patch
(+10% fire damage)

Weapons:
Archmage's Wand
(+500 fire damage)
(Gain 5 PP on Perfect Attack on a burning target)

Recurve Bow
(Only have this bow for the two slots. I don't use it to shoot.)

Weapon Strap-Ons:
Brimstone
(+100 fire damage)

Small Butane Torch
(+ 50 fire damage)

Zippo Lighter
(+25 fire damage)

Lit Match
(+10 fire damage)

Strategy:
Regular mobs just hit them prefight so you attack first. Hit Pyre, it all dies. Was hitting bears, wolves, and snakes for 11k plus each.

Bosses you wanna pop Speed Potion and double Dragon's Breath it. Repeat every turn till it dies, if you can.

I usually use Butters :profchaos: for Buddy choice. He does okay damage, his Professor Chaos ability, if you can stop it on the cloak it's huge survivability. You can use him to heal with Healing Touch and fill in any potions your main guy might need, since he will be using his. I did this strat on pretty much every boss, including last.

Let me know if i left anything out or got something wrong. :broflex: :towelie:

Reason for Mage being OP is his 2 fire spells. First eats armor and does crazy damage in a line, second ignores armor and deals even crazier damage to everyone. Both are easy to execute without any crazy clicking and timing skill. There are many things boosting fire damage and there are (almost!) no enemies resistant to fire, while bunch seems to be weak to it. Once you master both abilities you usually don't have to use any other attacks and debuffs anymore - you just burn every enemy. For this same reason best choice is picking support buddy like Butters or Bard. Sure you can somehow pull this off with Jew class spamming fire plague, but Mage is simply much better for this role. Warrior and Thief cannot compete with this (still every class is nice and fun to play).
