Controller not working
I just bought this game and I tried using my controller, the game is acting like it does not exist. Can anyone help?

Same, even though when I go into the options menu it shows the colored XAYB buttons like it knows i have a controller connected.

I don't even see the colored buttons in the options menu, is it the controller I'm using? Using ps2 with xinput by the way haven't had a problem save for a few games

Dunno what you have and I'm just on the fence about the game, so the only thing I can offer is x360ce.exe? (Google it)

OK. Didn't expect the auto-hyperlink. I guess I'll offer this instead: http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/

I have the same problem using a xbox one controller. In other games like Ori and the Blind Forest it is working.

Well I am having the opposite problem, just bought the game and want to use mouse+keyboard and it will only let me use XBOX controls....thing is, I don't own one or any other gamepad. Also no where to disable even a generic controller. Any idea's?

Ok, no it is working with my Xbox One controller.
I had two controller devices in the control panel (Win7 --> \Control Panel\Devices and Printers\). So I unpluged my controller. One controller disappeared in the control panel. After I deleted the other one which remained it worked.

Got it working now I'm using a 360 controller without xinput. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game if anyone is wondering.

I used a friends 360 wired controller and it worked. I tried a logictech f310 controller and it worked apparentley there is something of a compatibility issue with these controllers

If anyone else finds this thread - I had the same problem, but because I was assigned to P2. Remove controller, go to control panel/devices/remove devices/reattach it and it should work

the problem is your using outdated old controllers from 20 years ago . on newer windows .
Scobee Dec 25, 2024 @ 5:55am
What? You mean this original Xbox controller from 2004 won't magically work if I cram the cable into the USB port?!

Also, the fact that you are responding to a 10 year old thread saying not to use a 20 year old controller is the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

At the time of this post, I was using an Xbox Elite. So not only is your theory hilarious, it's wrong.

Also, it's "you're".
