I can't remember the details of the fight, but you can also inspect them to see if they have weaknesses. If they are weak to fire for example, equip fire strap-ons to take them out quicker.
Always keep a good supply of speed potions (coffee) and use those for both characters. You get 4 attacks every turn then. Try using gear that gives you better bonuses that will help just for this fight (not sure what those would be, but look through what you have and gear up as best you can - perhaps reduced damage when blocking, more armor, free healing or PP each turn)
one thing....... how can i get back to KK to upgrade my weapons and armor and get some strap-ons?
Cartman and Kenny are blocking the door out of the basement.
@felo.de.sade
You have to go back to a save before you started the Giggling Donkey section, there is no way out until you defeat Jimmy, then talk to Cartman and he sends you back to Kupa Keep (you don't leave by the front door).
You need to learn to time your blocks to reduce damage and avoid debuffs. Use Butters ability to heal if possible, so you are using speed potions and not healing items. Focus on taking Jimmy out first, or at least focus on taking one enemy out at a time. Less enemies = less damage. Use Tacos to revive Butters if he goes down or yourself.
Stun is your friend. Stunned enemies = less damage and you can focus on remaining enemies to thin the numbers faster. Use Dragonshout!
Speed potion + 2 dragon shouts = 2 enemies out of action. I think there are only 3 enemies including Jimmy, so stun the other 2 and have butters focus on Jimmy. Speed potion for Butters = 2 attacks on Jimmy. Jimmy gets one attack on you. Block that. Then a speed potion for you and Butters = 4 more attacks on Jimmy. You should have taken him out by the end of the second round. The other enemies will wake up now. They may attack or it may skip back to your turn. Either way, you should only have to defend 3 attacks at most by this point. Now you can stun one enemy and take the other out, then take the last guy out on the next turn.
This of course assumes you've kept a stock of speed potions. If not you have to block well and stay as healed as you can. Use Butters lightning attack to hit multiple enemies and feed him PP potions.
Not sure what class you are, but use your abilities. If you have crowd control (stun/sleep/slow) use those to reduce the number of enemies who can attack so you can focus on fewer enemies.
Last ditch, if you haven't got any saves to fall back on (and you should keep 6 rolling saves) to properly equip yourself, you will have to take this as a learning experience and start again. All fights are beatable, this isn't even nearly the toughest one. You will have to develop strategies to minimize what your enemies can do or take them out quickly. Try out all your abilities to get the timing down and find out what effects they have.
My class was thief, and the mug ability is great for crowd control as it stuns and can be upgraded to a multiple turn stun, and thief can hit hard against the back row enemies. But it is not the most powerful class for straight damage, so learn the strengths of your class and use them.
i saved (in my only slot) when i entered the basement. =/
dragon shout wasn't very useful.
i may be screwed.
if i can't get past this, i'll just chalk the purchase of this a waste.
damn.
Yea, it's the games fault your bad at it... wtf??? Not even a challenging part of the game.
You might be right about squeaker, but kenny is available from when you charm the elf on the ladder, not sure if flower has to be done first.
Knock out the rat in front if jimmy and kiss him each turn.
Not sure if I can link here but this is from H/core mage:

if you've got a nugget hit one of the archers and hit the front guy and again with butters if you're not playing hardcore it should be enough,
if you've grossed an archer you will be able to take him out easily by now leaving one to clean up.
Next use cuppa on the gas lamp to the right then the candle,
stay at the front of the screen,
if you are quick you can open the window for craig then cuppa the lantern next to craig wait for there to be one elf on either side, then buddy heal craig, the last elf should be scared, DS or cuppa him and he'll pass out so you can loot him. Craig should be by the door for you to open it.
nugget? ds? cuppa?
oh. dragon shout...
it doesn't seem to help at all.
When you first enter the basement go to the far left there is a tool box loot it and the cupboard under the stairs then continue on until you find The Bard (jimmy).
By now you have collected some potions and ♥♥♥♥ "nuggets", hopefully.
If you have one throw a nugget at the archer in the middle either way, then attack the elf closest to you with whatever you have to hit hard (melee or powers), between you and butters the idea is to take out guy in front while weakening the one you want to kill next turn, if you can gross the first archer at the start without wasting a turn, you should be able to take him out leaving just one.
The idea is to learn to block a bit against the archers too jimmy can heal and buff (attack up etc..) but he can't heal gross damage, which along with bleeding are damage over time (DOT) effects, they do damage each turn and can be stacked (5x for bleeding) to do more damage.
You will then be faced with 3 elves in front and one to the right, loot the 3 dead guys where you are.
There is now a lantern to your right, using the ranged magic attack (select with E then hold G if you are on the right power you will see a row of arrows) aim the attack with your mouse at the lantern taking out the lantern and the elf (and again on the candle taking out the boxes if you like).
Without moving forward move back to the left, craig will be at the window wanting to be let in so shoot the latch and wait.
Once he has fallen there will be a lantern to his left, using the ranged magic attack (Cuppa- fart?) line up the shot but wait for there to be an elf on both sides and blow up the lantern killing the 2 elves and scaring the last elf who will now not attack you, if you fart on him he will die dropping an elven L3 bow.
If you haven't healed Craig yet (you can do this any time after he falls I leav it til last), select buddy power and have Butters heal him and you can leave the cellar.
I'm on PC so controls may be different, your class may also effect your attacks but if you are really having trouble look at your gear, being a Thief doesn't stop you kitting up with armor and using weapons with a modifier, eg, the L2 Sword with 3x armor multiplier and a mix of gear to give the highest armor score was what I used the first time on hardcore as a Jew.
Keep in mind that in most cases you can stun or gross most opponents before you start a fight and in most cases take them out using the environment, once you leave the cellar you will have 2 lights you can shoot taking out elves one to your right and one in the kitchen for example (and what I think is the harder fight in the front room).
If you've "found Jesus" or beaten up the "mongorians" already you can use them for either of these fights if you want but in the end it's about matching a strategy to the enemy and not rushing when you start out, turn based means you can think what to do next.
Combo's also help: Fire can be amplified by farts on the next turn for example and if you get the timing right and have enough mana you can stun and fart your way through almost all of the fights. Wait til you learn the Sqeaker and can take out everyone with one attack.
OK I've dribbled enough (too much), hope this helps a bit.
