But I'm not ruling out luck. So give it a go. Maybe some sort of memory leak thing...
Go to the Sound application. Click on Speakers, then click the Configure button in the lower left corner of the window. This will bring up the Speaker Setup window.
Switch to "Stereo" and proceed until the end.
This should work.
Pretty frustrating after playing tombraider problem free and then a game as simple as this runs so terribly
Step 1: Launch game
Step 2: When running game, alt-tab out
Step 3: Run task manager by Ctrl+Alt+Del and hit "start task manager" (or type task manager in start search bar)
Step 4: under processes tab, find "South Park - The stick of truth.exe", right click it and select "set affinity"
Step 5: Make sure "<All Processors>" is selected
The problem seems to be that the game is a high CPU intensive game - I blame autodesk + obsidian, but I could be wrong, but for some reason, the game is offloading to one cpu. If you have 2+ cores, the problem is alleviated by spreading this load onto other cpu's.
Note, this worked for me and other people that I've talk to, but that is a small sample and this may or may not fix your problem. Good luck and leave some props if it does work for you.
