Why is South Park Also Region Locked to South East Asia?
On the the Steam store for South Park, there is a note written under the screenshot gallery that the following text:

Purchases made in Malaysia are only playable in Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Sources are posted below:
Malaysia: http://store.steampowered.com/app/213670/?cc=my
Singapore: http://store.steampowered.com/app/213670/?cc=sg
Thailand: http://store.steampowered.com/app/213670/?cc=th
Philippines: http://store.steampowered.com/app/213670/?cc=ph

The US store doesnt have this note on it: http://store.steampowered.com/app/213670/?cc=us

Heck, even the Australian version of South Park which is evidently censored, they are paying $5 less than the SEA version and they do not have any region lock.

All the SEA stores has the same note written on it. Please note that SEA is paying the same $60 price tag as US, except now, SEA's Steam games are region lock.

Also, South Park is only censored in Singapore, while Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand is getting the same uncensored version as US. Censorship is very much out of the question as other recently released game, Thief is also getting the same region lock. Even Dark Souls 2 is region locked to Steam with no known censorship.

I do travel to and from Australia and SEA often which I hope that I still can play the game in Australia. Also, I bought my South Park key from a reputable and legitimate seller, Green Man Gaming which I activated it in SEA, does that mean my copy is now region locked to SEA?

What is with Steam and region locking games in SEA, when the SEA gamers are paying the same price as a US gamer despite they have far lower average salary than a US citizen. On top of that, it is just ridiculous to pay the same price, then, have their games region locked to the region. If its done like Russia or South America where the gamers there pay significant lesser than rest of the world, then, implementing region lock would be understandable.

Still, we are living in a connected world now so why do we need to deal with region locks, especially after the game is activated in the same region I as bought it?

Laws.

Steam don't put this kind of stuff on games just because they feel like it.

Exchange rate.

Game pricing is dependent on exchange rate, not average salary rate.

SEA gamers are not paying in local currencies as it is not implemented yet. The price is exactly the same as US. Even Australians are paying in USD for Steam games because Steam have not implement local currencies for Australia.

Please quote me a law that requires all Steam games sold in SEA has to be region locked to the region.

This looks like Steam is doing this because they felt like it.
