Also....to get the critters in the forest, look for the note on stans floor in his room, it will tell you the code to walk in the forest to find them =]

is there any way to get the key after beating the game? i went back to the school and the cafeteria was blocked off

Not sure about that key, but alot of stuff in the game is a "1 chance to get" item as after you pass alot of areas you cannot go back. For example, while on the alien space ship make sure you get the chimpokumon there as once you finish that stage thats it.

Yes you can, you have to enter through the side door of the school beside where the goth kids usually hangs around
