Cant get into the kitchen, after that goths attack the elves in the back of the school (Spoler)

I Cant get into the kitchen, at the bit where cartmans army attacks the school.
I try to open the door and the goth says "Heres the key" but no key appears. It seems the key from the goths seems to get stuck under the steps of the door to the kitchen. If I leave and cone back, the goth kid has moved but still no key appears.

Am I missing something or is this bugged?

Yes you are missing something. Your friend should be telling you to give them a command. This is telling you to have butters heal the goth kid in front of the door who will open it for you.
