Robots with blinking blue lights?

What are they, and what is the purpose of them in the game? I see them everywhere. They don't move, they just sit there with a flashing blue light on the antenea.

They don't serve a purpose until later in the game. Spoiler below if you really want to know what they are for right now.

These are used later in the game after you learn teleport from the alien spaceship. You teleport yourself and your "buddy" within a range of the robot.

Thank you for posting about this. I thought it was a champokemon thing and I wondered if it was bugged because I couldnt pick it up.

You're welcome! I saw that nobody had said anything, and figured I wouldn't be the only one not wanting to have to revisit every place I saw the things haha. I've gotten to the part where you can start using them and it's pretty badass!
