Reviews
The Escapist: "This is close to authentic as a licensed spin-off can get. For all intents and purposes, The Stick of Truth is South Park."

GamesRadar[www.gamesradar.com]: "Even if you haven't kept up with the show, the jokes are given enough context that you won't feel like you're missing out on the punchline."

IGN: (watch the video)

Kotaku: "Maybe in a few weeks, or months, when the patches are out and the bugs are squashed, we can talk about Stick of Truth for what it is: a wonderful, funny RPG that does some really clever, surprising things."

Rock, Paper, Shotgun: "It is at once the South Park game we’ve been waiting for since the series started 17 years ago, and a cluster of stupid mistakes and bad balancing that we’d hoped Obsidian had put behind them."

Edge Online[www.edge-online.com]: "All notions of subtlety are abandoned, in other words, and the result is a laughs-per-minute ratio that compares favourably to just about any other comedy, interactive or otherwise."

Joystiq[www.joystiq.com]: "To its credit, Stick of Truth references some of the most popular episodes of the series, but if you're looking for a solid RPG first and a South Park game second, this isn't it."

Polygon[www.polygon.com]: "Obsidian has also lovingly channeled the series' anarchic, almost militaristic irreverence (I hesitate to say "offensive" since that's very much up to the viewer or player). Homosexuality, racism, religion, abortion, pedophila — practically nothing is off limits and I'm frankly amazed at what made it past the ESRB. I was also kind of delighted."

VG24/7[www.vg247.com]: "It’s no secret that there’s a wealth of ♥♥♥♥ South Park games out there, but Obsidian has bucked the trend here, because beneath all of the crass humour lies an enjoyable RPG that actually works."

GameSpot[www.gamespot.com]: "A deep role-playing experience this is not. It is fun, however, in an "I just farted on a Nazi zombie fetus" kind of way."

Eurogamer[www.eurogamer.net]: "A finicky combat system, a lack of challenge and few reasons to remain in South Park once the story is done - these minor disappointments hold The Stick of Truth back from greatness, but they don't detract from the sheer audacious hilarity it delivers."

CVG[www.computerandvideogames.com]: "If Lemmiwinks, super cereal and cows mean nothing to you, this is will just feel like a solid, workmanlike RPG. For everyone else, it's like getting your first Okama Gamesphere: it's the South Park game you've been waiting for since forever."

Official PlayStation Magazine UK[www.officialplaystationmagazine.co.uk]: "The Stick Of Truth is an incredibly rewarding RPG experience. While the basic battle system is easy to get to grips with, it’s pleasingly unforgiving."

Shacknews: "As an RPG, it's hard to recommend South Park: The Stick of Truth, given that there are a number of more polished titles that offer deeper battle systems and much larger worlds. As a South Park game, however, this is easily at the head of the class, nailing the show's humor at just about every turn."

Giant Bomb[www.giantbomb.com]: "The Stick of Truth is one of the rare instances of a licensed game done exactly right."

PC Gamer: "The comedy here is never at the expense of fun, even when it’s poking fun at gaming cliches."

GamesBeat[venturebeat.com]: "South Park’s best humor comes at the expense of other games, with moments clearly parodying scenarios and tropes from popular franchises like The Elder Scrolls, Final Fantasy, and BioShock. The satire is dead on, but it also comes from a place of love."

Game Front[www.gamefront.com]: "South Park: The Stick of Truth is a fan service game, and if you’re not a fan of “South Park” and that show’s humor, you’re probably not going to enjoy it."

EGM[www.egmnow.com]: "The story felt like it had a natural ending and didn’t feel rushed at all, but I sure do wish there were more to it. If they left me begging for more, it’s not necessarily a bad thing, though, right?"

Destructoid: "The RPG elements are very serviceable but they're not going to satiate most of the hardcore genre fans out there. It's a good thing then that the rest of the package is filled with so much care from the show's creators that it makes it something truly special."

Game Informer[www.gameinformer.com]: "I can’t think of a better way to bring this franchise to gaming consoles. The RPG format allows for a ton of funny items and sidequests, the objectives are unlike anything else in the genre, everything moves along at a solid pace, and the overall feel is distinctly South Park. It’s one of the most faithful adaptations of a license I’ve seen, and it ranks among the best comedic games ever released."

IncGamers[www.incgamers.com]: "It would've been nice to have trickier combat or more real RPG bits and bobs, but as an interactive South Park title, this hits pretty much every mark. The Stick of Truth is puerile, authentic, and constantly hilarious."

scores might be nice for some people
South Park is awesome. You missed IncGamers South Park review[www.incgamers.com] btw so I included the quote below.

8/10: "It would've been nice to have trickier combat or more real RPG bits and bobs, but as an interactive South Park title, this hits pretty much every mark. The Stick of Truth is puerile, authentic, and constantly hilarious."

Has some good info on the RPG side of SP too, so I'm hoping the devs might expand upon that aspect a bit more with an expansion or sequel.

its pretty much what i expected from reading and watching what was available. if you are not a big SP fan its a mediocre 2d turn based rpg. i figured thered be some bugs, but i thought thered be less. none are a big deal that i know of though. so thats good for fans.

the humor seems to be a patchwork of episode references which seems to be recieved well for the most part. its had some criticism but still best of the SP games so there is that.

been watching this game since as a gamer you never know what will actually be 'epic' and wanted to give it a chance. but since im not overwhelmed with SP fandom glad i didnt buy it. might give it a go when its not 60 dollars.

Added IncGamers per @davidtheslayer.

Thanks for the quick add. Yeah I don't think SP was meant to be a strong RPG, more like some system to get players from one scene to the next. Not to derail too much but Project of Eternity is looking good.

wow, i couldn't have found all this on the very first page of a google search return.

thanks so much for saving me from going to the trouble of typing a word or two in that little box, it's so tedious and time consuming...

perhaps in addition to this, you should create an official steam guide to help others conquer this difficult problem...

Perhaps I should create a guide about how to not quote long posts in their entirety...
