Most Overrated Episode?

All this talk of favorite and best episodes got me thinking: which episode did you sleep on that, when you finally watched it, didn't live up to the hype? Maybe it just wasn't as funny as your friends made it sound, or maybe you found it horribly offensive and in bad taste. Whatever the reason really.

For me (and I do apologize): Manbearpig.

Not saying its a bad episode by any means, but everyone I knew when it came out acted like it was the greatest thing to hit their eyes and ears, and I just didn't get that when I saw it. Though Al Gore WAS absolutely brilliant, so I guess that makes up for the kind of meh story.

I don't have a particularly overhyped episode that I hate, I just tend to find every once in a while I find myself saying "stop trying so hard South Park". The Brittany Spears and Oprah episodes spring immediatly to mind.
Cartman as Dog the Bouthy Hunter is terrible, but that's probably more cause the actul show is so annoying it shouldn't even be repeated to make fun of it.

Good Times With Weapons but ONLY because of the DBZ stuff. My wife and I loathe that crap. As for eps we don't watch, Pandemic is right at the top. Stupid episode with awesome graphics. It's every Final Fantasy past nine.

Oh god and 200/201! How could I forget about that thud of a couple of episodes. Crippled Summer was the perfect episode to end on though. Hugely funny ♥♥♥♥-you to Comedy Central.

thats one of my all time favs!!... this is easy for me. the green episode where they bought the hybrid cars and thought they were better than everyone else because they went green..I remember being excited all day long that wednesday because there was a new episode of SP coming on and when I watched it I was sooooo let down..

Good as every episode of the 16th&17th season suckz. they don't have odeas anymore and try to focus on actual topics(mostly politics or media stuff). The dont bring out episodes where the southpark kids handle with a senseless topic like the ninja episode. Thats why i hope that the game will contain much of the old humor of southpark, which was just senseless and dirty and not the kind of situation where the kids just stand around with opened mouths like ziplining. But the content i saw so far promises to fullfill my hopes.

I guess australia believe in a see no evil hear no evil speak no evil kind of gov. and that will make everything all perfect but infact it just makes them look ignorant am I right I wouldn't really know I dont live there.

I'm a little shocked that a lot of people are saying this whole season was crap. This was the first one in a long time that I thought was actually pretty great, especially the first three eps of the season.

What is it you guys aren't liking about current-day South Park?

It's just getting a little formulaic. They take a current thing and another current thing and then mash it into an episode (examples: Miley Cyrus + Obamacare = Taming Strange, World War Z + Zimmerman case = WWZimmerman, etc. ). Whereas old South Park used to tackle issues that are still relevant today (abortion, religion, etc.).

That said, not ALL new episodes are crap. I found "Raising the Bar" and "Ginger Cow" both hilarious and insightful.
