in the day 1 patch there is a mention of difficulty levels. So i would assume there is different difficulties.
but it is too easy - Im playing on Hardcore and cant seem to die - unless I play stupidly on purpose
The RPG/mechanics of the game are more casual, the mechanics are good, but its not a hardcore min/max RPG game. Damage increases exponentially so you have to pay some attention, and modding weapons/gear makes a big difference. I try to max out gear and regular encounters are often won without enemies getting more then 1 attack in. Due to out of combat stun/in combat stuns/etc.
If you suck you might have to buy potions from vendors. I generally only need them on boss fights (normal difficulty) because i often miss blocks by pressing too soon or missing multi-attacks.
I would consider this a casual game, but a funny one at least.
