No French dubbing despite its special epicness???
This is a very bad decision from Obsidian/Ubisoft, french people watch movies & series in their original langage version with french subtitles most of the time (it's what I do), but there is some very rare exceptions, and one of them is South Park (and also The Simpsons).

For South Park, french dubbing is better than the english one (for native french speaking people), because in the english one Matt Stone & Trey Parker are doing almost all voices by themselves with the help of an audio computer software to modify them, those voices are too similar to each other, and sound too much like adult faking children voices.

In the French dubbing one, all main character have a different professional actor, and all of them know how to reproduce a litteral realist child voice, and the crude dialogues of South Park, in the mouth of realist children voices, take the show to another level of comedy, beyond the original one.

The problem was the same in their movie Team America: World Police, for this one french dubbing was more rich and singular.

There is also one other thing making South Park french dubbing version better than the english one for native french speaking people, the adaptation and translation is very well done, very smart, replacing insults and epic sentences by richer and very diversified and inept french ones.

Obsidian/Ubisoft, you should have investigate more to find out how people are watching South Park in each country, in french speaking countries people are watching it because yes Matt Stone & Trey Parker are genius, but because we have also an epic very special french dubbing for this show.

Obsidian/Ubisoft, you have a couple of weeks to fix this if you want this game to sell well in french speaking countries, call the original french actors, make a deal, pay them, and release a french dubbing version please.

Thank you :Deer:

EDIT: Someone made a Petition to ask Ubisoft & Obsidian to make a french dubbing with all the original french casting, you can sign it here, already 14,000+ signatures:

Thank you DJ Julien for the link of the Petition, already 8200+ signature of people who want the french casting to also do the dubbing of the game, they are doing it for the show since 18 years now, their work is amazing, and the game deserve it.

Ultimacy, I'm going to say it for the 3rd time in this topic, cause I think some people are spending a lots of energy to force themselves to not understand, we are not special, but this specific dubbing is special, and is an exception among french dubbings, and judging by the answers of others South Park fans here, french one is not the only one (german one, etc.).

Ultimacy, if you can't understand that for thousand of players, playing this game in english will be just like watching a show (not a cartoon one, a real one with real actors) that you are used to watch since 18 years, while removing all the actors and replacing them with totally different actors, and just keeping their clothe, imagine that suddenly in the middle of a season we are replacing all the actors of Breaking Bad or Big Bang Theory for example, would you be happy?
So if you can't understand that it will spoil the game for thousand of players, I'm just sad for you. :ZombieHeart:

I'm gonna put the Petition Link[secure.avaaz.org] in OP post.

I wouldn't know. The only shows that get dubbed over here are children's shows. This problem is pretty much exclusive to countries who aren't used to the source material.

What you don't understand I think, is that we are used to source material here, we are used to watch things in original languages with french subtitles, and we are not forced to do it, cause everything is dubbed here, everything, that does not cost a lot to do it unlike some people think, when we watch TV, DVD, Blu-ray, TV Recordings, Catch Up TV, Restart TV, Games, etc. we can choose in live witch language we want, original or french, and with or without subtitles, and this because people want original version, cause original version will always be better, but for South Park, this is an exception, people prefer to watch it in french dubbing, cause for this one, french dubbing is better, and I already explained why.

I can understand if the French dubbing is better than English for you guys and that's why you want it. It's like to me the original voice acting is better than my native language Finnish and that's why I always play/watch everything in their original voices. I just hate dubbings with a passion. That and your country is quite big.

It's not just for them that it is better.
The French version's jokes, puns and slangs will always be worst than the original imo.
The thing is that the voice casting isn't just made by Matt Stone and Trey Parker but a group of people. That's why the French casting takes a lot more effort and is special on it's own.I don't know for other language but I understand why the French dubbed is indeed unique.

I will always watch South Park in english since the wording is better but I don't understand why some people would want to stop people from enjoying something they like...

Some people just want to destroy something that could be a better experience for some others without good reasons.

I can't understand why some people would say "No" to multiple language selection.

Fighting for the worst is really dumb.
Fighting for the best is wise.

Thanks a lot Leonem, that is well said, it's not like we are asking for English to be removed, we just want the french dubbing as an alternative option, why would some people say "NO!" to this is beyond me.

Where is it going to end? Should every country in the world get its own dub? If not, then why are certain countries like Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Russia, etc. so adamant about dubbing? You never see other countries ask for dubbed games, because they're used to listening to the source material. It's an endless cycle that only creates more work for the people involved.

Where is it going to end? What?
Yeah, it's not like movies or games have been dubbed in Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Russia before, right? And I haven't heard other countries complain. They are faily large countries with many people to begin with, not like Estonia or Finland etc.

Why not start with mandarin dubs then if it is population based? Or arabic?

Why not, if there are many people willing to pay for a game with those dubs.
And btw, the point of my comment was that movies/games have been dubbed to Ger,Spa,Ita,Fra,Rus before so it shouldn't be a problem now.

As has been said many times it is more than likely just not cost effective for the development team. Hence why I said start yourself a kickstarter. Maybe even give the money directly to the developers to pay the french cast? If it is truely that important to the people of France and beyond this should be perfectly acceptable.

I ain't french but i think they should add some multpile languages, on another hand if they would announce adding anothed dubs, but it would pause the game for longer i will personally find each n every one who wanted dubbed version n punch him/her in the face

I'm sure there will be subbing eventually. If not, there may be a way to mod it, anyone handy with mods?

I, myself, would intentionally not dub any kind of movies or games into German or French.
It's like worshipping Satan.
Eventho I am kidding, I do mean it. Enchance your own perception of the world and get outside your national bubble.
(Dutch myself and it's horrifying to see Disney and such dubbing everything nowaday, truely dumbening the next generation).

Yes, people should be free enough to decide this for themselves. However, this will destroy the original culture.

Did you even read the topic? Judging by your answer I think you did not...
