No French dubbing despite its special epicness???
This is a very bad decision from Obsidian/Ubisoft, french people watch movies & series in their original langage version with french subtitles most of the time (it's what I do), but there is some very rare exceptions, and one of them is South Park (and also The Simpsons).

For South Park, french dubbing is better than the english one (for native french speaking people), because in the english one Matt Stone & Trey Parker are doing almost all voices by themselves with the help of an audio computer software to modify them, those voices are too similar to each other, and sound too much like adult faking children voices.

In the French dubbing one, all main character have a different professional actor, and all of them know how to reproduce a litteral realist child voice, and the crude dialogues of South Park, in the mouth of realist children voices, take the show to another level of comedy, beyond the original one.

The problem was the same in their movie Team America: World Police, for this one french dubbing was more rich and singular.

There is also one other thing making South Park french dubbing version better than the english one for native french speaking people, the adaptation and translation is very well done, very smart, replacing insults and epic sentences by richer and very diversified and inept french ones.

Obsidian/Ubisoft, you should have investigate more to find out how people are watching South Park in each country, in french speaking countries people are watching it because yes Matt Stone & Trey Parker are genius, but because we have also an epic very special french dubbing for this show.

Obsidian/Ubisoft, you have a couple of weeks to fix this if you want this game to sell well in french speaking countries, call the original french actors, make a deal, pay them, and release a french dubbing version please.

Thank you :Deer:

EDIT: Someone made a Petition to ask Ubisoft & Obsidian to make a french dubbing with all the original french casting, you can sign it here, already 14,000+ signatures:

In Europe dubs are quite common (mostly with movies) but I rather have some subtitles.

I've never understood why anyone wants to watch dubbed shows anyway. when I watch foreign movies I just use the subtitles, it's always too strange seeing them speak english while they're mouthing different words.

South Park is not Akira, they are not spending years to draw frame by frame the perfect lip sync ever, the characters are not humans, therefore any dubbing in any language works.

It's not like watching a real actor with a missmatch voice and bad syncing, or it's not like watching an anime where they spent so many time to draw lips mouvements for a specific language.

Since they published specifications for The Stick of the Truth, 6 different language subtitles but nothing than English for audio, I went to read South Park french fan web sites, and on all of them it's the same thing, people telling usually they only Watch original version with subtitles, but for South Park they don't, because the French dubbing and Cartman french dubber are just epic.

And dubbing this game will not make it cost 200 $, that's non sense, plenty of games with hours and hours of audio are dubbed in french, german, italian, spanish, russian, japanese, etc. and they don't cost 200 $, even Alan Wake is dubbed in french with the french actor who make Cartman voice in South Park.

Why not watch the show how it's meant to be heard/seen? I never understood dubbing..

French dubbing sucks real hard, you don't understand half the references. Stop whining and go learn english.

I think people here want french dubbing because they are used to the french version (it's my case), not because they don't learn english. And, your comment is stupid because the game is in french and subtitles too, just voices are in english only. And, if you have voices in multiple languages, you have the choice for voices language.

That's true. But dubbing is horribly expensive. Here in Germany, people are used to the German dub (duh...), but I don't think (and hope) that anyone will complain about this game not having one. Well, if it had one, chances are, most people would switch to English anyway. So... not worth the extra cost.

Voice actors are cheap man! Fly all of the hundreds of them in already so they can collectivly turn the scores of hours of voicing into thousands! It won't be too hard right? They don't need to even be paid right? Not like the game has over 50 uniquely voiced recurring characters in every language right? We believe in you Ubisoft as you are the best game maker in the world! [/s]

Ubisoft is a french company and they have many studios in France, so no they won't make them fly to Montreal. Voice actors are paid hourly and can do hundreds of lines in a single week. French south park doesn't have 50 uniquely voiced characters, at most they have 10 to 12 voice actors many of which would work a day or two to voice their respective characters.

If it wasn't cheap the french wouldn't dub almost every american porn dvds that make it there.

It's okay you can make yourself not look like an idiot by changing a couple words and removing the [/s]

But you are still assuming that if dubbing was to be implemented that only the french cast would be involved to provide for such a small portion of the global audience.

Here is a thought. If the french speaking community so greatly wants to have a french dubbing of the game, why do you not make yourself a kickstarter. Raise the money yourselves, hire the voice actors and make your own little submod for the game? It seems that it would be a much more likely way to make it happen if so many people truely want this french dub.

If nothing else, the person who initiates the kickstarter will get some spending cash to afford the game. >.>

Even if english is the original....
Even if reading subtitles is usual for us...

What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hiliarious time when your hear something like that, we don't loose any references, and it's well adapted:
(season 7 ep8)

in our native language.

I started watching South Park in French when I was younger. As I grew up, I learned english pretty well with video games, the internet, school and mostly South Park because the Seasons weren't all dubbed to start with. There was only Season 1 to 3 (or 4) dubbed in French.
The point I wanted to make is that I'm used to both languages, I agree that the voice acting for South Park in French is very special BUT I disagree with you saying that we don't loose any references.

South Park in French is far less crude and funny than the original dubb.
If you listen in english and read the French annotations or if you listen in French and read the english Annotation, you will clearly see that some jokes are changed to fit for French and aren't as funny.
