What you get from pre-ordering this game!
Cartman, "When you pre-order a game, you’re just committing to paying for something that some a**ho**s in California haven’t even finished working on yet. You know what you get for pre-ordering a game? A big d**k in your mouth."

I think I'm gonna have to defer to Cartman on this one. Never thought I'd say that!

Nothing realy worthwhile is being gained with pre-ordering anyway, just a few more clothing options.

Yeah, also a lot of people complaining about the price. I have to agree there also. A few months ago I was saying I would immediately pre-order this when it came time, but that was when I thought it would be $20, at most, like the Tower Defense XBLA title. I'd only pay $20 because it IS South Park (Matt and Trey). If it were some other developer trying to sell me an RPG like this for even $20, I'd have to pass. I love RPGs and South Park, but I may end up waiting for this to go on sale. If it turns out to have Ubisoft DRM, then I guess I'll take Cartman's advice once again, and try to find an eye patch and move to Somalia.

b-)

The only time pre ordering mattered was when games were not available digitally and you had to go to a shop and there was a chance they would sell out.

Hasn't this been said like three times already? Who's copying who and wasting threads?
Grassy Gnoll Feb 1, 2014 @ 5:26am
We're all copying Matt and Trey, and we're wasting threads because there's an unlimited supply! :)

I could start a new one, but that would just be too wasteful! I mean, after all, there are children in Africa who don't even have one thread to vent in, much less the dozens we're blessed with in the USA! ;)

I was looking forward to this game a few years ago but its been delayed so many times now that i think theres going to be something badly wrong with it, hence the new pre-order to try and cash crab before release.

Everyone does pre-orders regardless of the quality. The fact it's been delayed so much especially since Ubisoft bought the IP off THQ. Can only be a good thing. Ubisoft could of thrown out whatever obsidian had made a week after buying the IP, if they were intrested in a cheap cash in!

Just found out that if you buy the UPLAY edition you'll get even more costumes. Still not sure if I'm buying the game, but I won't be getting that edition or paying for the extra costumes. Looking more and more likely that I'll wait for a sale. However, I do like Obsidian a lot, so we shall see.

The funniest thing is that on Steam you don't commit to pay for the game later, you do it immediately. Objectively speaking, this is worse than "getting a ♥♥♥♥ in your mouth".

True but with the recent change to pre-orders on steam you can cancel it at any time before release if you hear bad things about a title - just look at the store transactions on your account page. You can cancel any preorder and get the money back as wallet funds to spend later. If I can't find out what a game is like a few days before release I am still stuffed buying it retail anyway as the local shops won't take back opened PC games if I don't like it.

Sometimes I will preorder so that I know what cash goes out of my account upfront and do not find myself short when an actual title releases. Also it is not always convenient to get to the shops to buy on release and even when paying the price for release day delivery where I am the post is usually a few days later than release anway.

At the end of the day this title is no different in price here than any other AAA release - if you really want to moan about prices then go buy games on origin, they have ramped up the base price for new games for most releases to £45+ and charge a tenner more for digital deluxe editions with a few poxy additions.

I think with the advent of PS4 and Xbone titles being £55-£60 on release we will see more price gouging in the PC software marketplace and I don't see £40 being the base price in the coming years, it will be more :(
