unable to run game
I am unable to play this game anymore.
when i downloaded it and tried to run the first time, i got the error
"Unable to create Direct3D device. The game will now quit."

so i looked through a solution, i tried setting
full_screen = 0 in both config.ini and engine.ini
that did not work, i set the exe to run as admininstrator, went into properties and
checkmarked disable display scaling on high dpi settings

neither worked.

i also set use_directx_11 = true in both files
then i tried
support_aspect_ratio_4_3 = true
support_aspect_ratio_16_10 = true
support_aspect_ratio_custom = true in both files
still game me the error

so then i set
full_screen_width = 1920 ; 0 -> desktop width
full_screen_height = 1200 ; 0 -> desktop height
window_width = 1920
window_height = 1200
and
then i got a black screen like it was going to load, then nothing.

anyone have a solution?
Verify the games' cache as there may be files missing.

Otherwise, do a clean re-install and ensure that there are no programs that alter audio and video codecs and file dependencies(like k-lite and CCCP).

If that doesn't work, I think I may have an answer to your problem. Before you attempt any of this, go out and eat some Chipotle and/or Taco Bell. It's almost vital to this process. Now then, get up from your chair and rotate 180 degrees so that your rear end is facing the screen. Lean forward a fair amount and clench your sphincter while simultaneously holding your breath, almost as if you were about to defecate. But don't actually, because that just ruins the process. If you do this correctly, your stomach will start to gurgle. Now play around a little with the intensity of sphincter-clenching. This will activate a reaction in your gut which will either raise or lower the intensity of your stomach grumbling. When you find the highest intensity, stay locked there for about two seconds, then swiftly proceed to release the fart, which we all know how to do. If you've done this correctly, the sheer force of your fart will knock your monitor back, breaking it. This will negate the problem of your new game not starting. Hope this helps.

Woah. Hey. Don't be rude. It worked for a couple of my friends. Also, I am a female and am triggered by your blatant use of "sir" as if you're some middle aged male from the middle ages. I am a female and I am proud of it. Using "sir" doesn't make you superior to me, nor does it make you sound like a gentleman. There are starving children in Latvia and your game not working is a very first world problem. Check your privilege, "sir".
