Why is this game so expensive?

Its actualy a fun game if you like old school RPG games. It doesnt take long to beat so I do agree that the price is way too high. Get on sale and dont bother with the DLC, its pointless.

Beyond that it is a realy fun game though. If you like watching South Park and can get it for like 10-15 bucks go for it.

I picked it up on sale for $7US last year, and found that it was easily worth $15US after spending time on a couple of play throughs. You can find the game for even cheaper than I paid on occassion through GoG, GreenMan or Humble, so it's worth picking up on sale even if the discount is only 50%.

As for why it's expensive? One word: Ubisoft.

So we're going to ignore that the OP said "it's old" when it's only been our for about a year and a half.

A game isn't going to drop to bargin bin numbers only after a year or two.
