If you've never watched south park is it worth playing?

Just curious if it is worth playing since I would assume there are a lot of references that will leave me confused. I've seen a few clips online of south park but have never really watched any episodes. The game looks fun and intriguing but would you play it if you've never watched south park?

You don't have to have seen the show to enjoy the game, it will help to have seen the show where the humor and plot are a concern.

well it depends...if you like dark humour in general, you might like this game.
BUT there are a ♥♥♥♥♥ ton of references from various episodes of the show which wont be half as funny without knowing anything about the show tbh...
I wont be spoiling much but right now I can think of two such instances-
a) in Stan's house you can find a Sarcastaball trophy (it's a ref. to an episode where Randy makes up this new game sarcastically but the irony is people actually start liking that game)
b) they kill a major character in the earlier seasons only to revive him in this game and to kill him again

You can play it (im guessing you know the reputation South Park has when it comes to humor). Think of the game as a huge south park episode that has its own story, theme etc (like almost all the episodes at the time the game released). You aren't really missing anything if you haven't seen the show. Sure there are small references but its just a small giggle for fans like myself who have seen the entire show.

Meaning, if you've never watched South Park, you're not losing much, but you will miss out on a few references.

Can think of the game as a stand-alone episode of the show.

As fun as the game looks, I recommend watching atleast the first two seasons of Southpark before getting the game, but this is coming from someone who doesn't own it.

Watch any episode from season 4-11 and you are very likely to hit a hilarious gem, with a good number of awesome episodes outside those seasons with quality diminishing over time overall.

It certainly helps with the many references in the game.
