Chao Eggs
Are only coming in White, Grey, Blue, Green, Orange, and Shiny White for me. I've got 44-some emblems at the moment. I know some shiny colors take more to unlock, but I should at least be seeing Pink, Purple, Sky Blue, Lime Green, Red, Yellow, ect. Has anyone else seen these colors yet? And can you take a picture to prove it?

That they were in the Dreamcast and Gamecube versions, I know. (I've played the GC version to 100% completion. Oh Jewel Chao, how I miss you) But what I specifically want to know is- in the version I bought on steam- do those colors appear in the shop? I want to hear from people with 50 emblems. 60 emblems. 70 emblems, and more. Screenshots are an F12 stroke away. Steam hosts them for free. Proof is easy and painless to provide, yet none has surfaced.
bro, chill out. this game is a direct port of the DC/GC version of the game. why would sega straight up REMOVE stuff from the port? shiny eggs, and regular colored eggs are able to be purchased from the chao garden given you have the correct amount of emblems. jewel chao eggs, to my knowledge, cannot be purchased since they were exclusive to the tiny chao garden.

Your comment, however, was not appreciated.

Please do not tell me to chill out. If there is a problem with chao egg colors, (and so far, no one has been able to prove that there isnt) then the only way we will know is somebody says something, somewhere. So that's what I'm doing. Apparently, other people are having the same problem. More than one person has agreed. Worse yet, no one has been able to prove otherwise with screenshots. If I sound upset, it's because I am. I like raising Chao. It was a deciding factor when I decided to buy a steam copy of a game I already own. I like my chao to come in my favorite colors. I expected them to come in my favorite colors. So far, they have not.

Secondly, please dont correct me if you're not 100% sure that I'm wrong. That's rather arrogant and a bit rude. I have finished all the storylines, I have 60 emblems. While I admit that it's nothing to be proud of, at the time of this writing, I see that you have completed the hero storyline, but you havent even named a chao yet. This is just a guess, but I believe I am a little more qualified to speak on the subject of what is in the steam version of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle's Chao Garden than you are.

Thirdly, I dont believe Sega deliberately took them out. Only a complete moron would remove popular colors like red, pink, purple, sky blue, and lime, and leave in unpopular colors like grey and orange. There's nothing wrong with these colors, they just dont happen to be most people's favorites. What I believe happened was either some kind of uncorrected mistake, or some 'feature' that was not implemented in the Steam version. But if so, it needs to be fixed.

Lastly, if this was a direct, unchanged port of the Gamecube/Dreamcast, then by the time I had 40 emblems (the point at which I wrote my first post) EVERY COLOR (except Black) should have been availible.

5 emblems gets you white eggs
10 emblems unlocks blue, red, yellow, and orange.
15 gets you pink
20 is when purple and sky blue start appearing
30 is green and brown
35 unlocks grey
40 is the popular lime green.
80 is black.

I have cycled my shop many many times and yet the only colors that ever appear are White, Orange, Blue, Green, and Grey.

TL:DR version: Please prove me wrong with pics before you tell me to chill out. And while you're at it, please finish all the storylines before you go around telling people what's what.

wow guys >< I haven't bought this version yet but, if i remember correctly from my gamecube version, not every egg color ever appeared on a single save file. Even if it only took 10 emblems to get the red color, sometimes you just wouldn't get it. I used to fix this problem by starting another game on another memory card and getting it that way (new memory card therefore a different set of egg colors would appear), and the transfering it over to my original memory card via chao transporter. Do none of y'all remember this fact?
Coffeefox Nov 23, 2012 @ 11:34pm
Since there is no way to transfer Chao in and out of this version, that is rather what I'm afraid of. But so far, EVERYONE seems to only get White, Gray, Green, Blue, and Orange. If there was something about the memory card itself that determined the colors you get, then it does so no longer.

That said, I'm fairly sure its only three colors you're not supposed to be able to get, and I'm missing 7. It was a feature they implemented to encourage trading, but there is no way to trade Chao here.

oh i see, that is rather a problem. I guess the quickest and most hassle free way to get around it would be a mod or something xD

I do wonder why that is though. If you can't transfer chao anymore, then why not just make every egg color avalible ><
Coffeefox Nov 24, 2012 @ 12:00am
That's what I figured they would do. But I'm beginning to feel certain that such good sense didn't occur to them. Even so, 7 missing colors! (possibly 8, I dont have enough emblems to find the black yet)
Crash #TSTJ Nov 24, 2012 @ 1:01am
Allow me to clear this up:

1 savedata will allow you to get maybe half the egg colours available.
I remember that on the gamecube, I had 3 memory cards with 3 different chao saves.

I couldn't get skyblue on one, but I could on the another.

-Facepalm-

I assume you're going off the Gamecube version when you 'clear things up'. In the Gamecube version, we have established that there are always supposed to be 3 (three, T-H-R-E-E) random colors that you were not able to buy. (6 if you count the shiny counterparts) This was a feature implemented to encourage trading between games.

This is not the gamecube version.

There is no trading. Let me repeat that in caps. YOU CANNOT TRADE CHAO IN THIS GAME.

Even the Chao Transporter has been renamed 'The Chao Departure'. I assume that they felt 'The Chao Trash Can' was too long.

NOW

From what I understand, EVERYONE is ONLY getting White, Blue, Green, Orange, and Grey-colored Chao IN THE STEAM VERSION. If I am wrong, someone please post a screenshot to correct me.

Show me a screenshot of your store selling any other color. PLEASE. I would love to be proven wrong.

I am sorry for my rude reply but I JUST EXPLAINED THIS. The reply is ON THIS PAGE.

I've seen a bunch of other colours so far, like sky blue, lime green, red, black, brown (I must note that I have 171 emblems currently).
I'm about to go to sleep now, I'm using my laptop, which can't run the game at decent framerates (I already uninstalled the game in the laptop), so I'll post a picture of the black market selling other types of eggs tomorrow.

Wow. Someone has trust issues. You're such a hypocrite, calling someone arrogant and being the most arrogant of them all. Like the guy said before me, chill.

No one has to prove anything with a screenshot, it's your problem if you're too ignorant to believe otherwise. I don't have any clue whatsoever if these eggs are in the game and I honestly don't care, besides, I'm not 'qualified' enough to talk on that matter anyway as apparently you seem to rank people by emblem count.

I'll happily believe that they are in fact in the game, not like I can prove it wrong and neither can you.
Coffeefox Dec 1, 2012 @ 5:12am
Yes. Yes I do have trust issues.
No, I am not arrogant.
No, I am not a hypocrite.
No, I do not need to chill.
Also, I'm not ignorant- precisely BECAUSE I dont just blindly believe what a person tells me.

People may mean well. People may think that this version of Sonic Adventure 2 is just like the Gamecube/Dreamcast version. That everything looks the same, therefore it must BE the same. Thinking this, they may attempt to inform others before making sure of the facts. Without meaning to, (or perhaps not caring either way) they may blithely go about spreading misinformation.

So yes, I ask for screenshots to prove that they have, in fact, seen and done what they've said. They dont have to provide them, but I can't be sure of them unless they do. I dont wish for people to think I'm ignoring their replies, (not even yours!) so I answer them as honestly and directly as I can. Unfortunately, people who dont read the entire conversation don't realize that they're making me repeat myself. I know what's in the console version. I'm concerned about what's in the PC version.

You may not care if the eggs are in the game or not, but I do. I really want to know. It IS my problem. That's why I brought it to the forum. To discuss it. To find out the truth. I assumed that discussion was the reason for a forum in the first place. Silly me. And I dont want people to tell me "Yes, they are" if they dont really know. If I want to be misinformed, I'll go read any political-based newspaper. Or Uncyclopedia. Or The Onion. At least those would be funny.

Lastly, please note that I replied to your comment without making any personal attacks or name-calling. Please also note that saying a person is doing an arrogant thing is not the same as calling them an arrogant person. Actions speak louder than words, but one action does not define a person.
Synavix Dec 1, 2012 @ 6:01am
I'd also be interested in knowing what is/isn't available or how this is working on the PC version. Like previously said, I've only been seeing the white, orange, blue, green, and gray, none of the other low emblem colors.

Right, okay. I'm not going to carry it on anymore. Just... you're being too hard on people here and it's a little unfair. They haven't done anything to deserve the level at which they've been attacked at. The people here aren't stupid and we can clearly tell that this isn't the GC version and whatnot - no one has even said it was the same, it was merely brought it up as an example.

Anyway I'm out of this conversation as I have nothing meanwhile to contribute to it. I'm sorry for the personal attacks I made before.
