Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is just a DLC for Sonic Adventure 2 which adds some local multiplayer and chao garden stuff.
Adventure 2 Battle was a mostly enhanced Gamecube port that added more multiplayer options, Chao Karate, and some small gameplay tweaks. Kind of like how Adventure 1 got the DX port later.
In terms of Steam, the Battle DLC is just Chao Karate and Multiplayer options from the Gamecube version.
If you want to add some confusion, the Steam version is actually the Gamecube port and not the Dreamcast one, even without the DLC. That’s just a fun fact though.
You should also at least know the story of 3K cause the Adventure games directly follow it.
The GameCube version also reworks the Chao Garden to make it compatible with the Game Boy Advance and the Tiny Chao Garden, also featured in Sonic Advance, as opposed to relying on the Dreamcast VMU. Sadly, the Steam version does not include such connectivity but everything else about the Chao Garden remains intact.

Here's a link to a more complete list on Sonic News Network which includes differences that aren't obvious from screenshots, mostly non-visual ones.

Also, the strange appearance of the results screen and alarm effects in cutscenes in the Dreamcast screenshots list is because when they were taken, I hadn't learned how to use Null DC's widescreen options properly. I used the JP version of the game, which I also have for physical Dreamcast.
Some of those can be mod fixed, but the only real mod I recommend to not overwhelm is one that changes the Sound Effect volume to be lowered. Thats because the HD ports (PS3/360/PC) made the sound effects much louder than they were meant to be on DC/Gamecube.
I guess you could say they experienced the infamous "red ring of death" in those versions?
Good one. :) That's true.
