I'd rather play a game that's always enjoyable than having a % chance the game will be enjoyable or a tedious slog otherwise. And it's okay to beat the hardest boss and move on to something else if you don't enjoy fighting that hardest boss again.
"RABBIT & STEEL is a co-op action roguelike that recreates the essence of high-level MMO raiding in a randomized, simplified, bunny-sized package."
So if people read it they should know what they're getting into.
Comparing the game to MMO's is also wrong in the case of RNG. You don't go into a raid with a random gear everytime. You have your equipment optimised for the content you are doing.
There's a very wide gap in loot power. It's not necessarly a problem of RNG and more of balance.
Otherwise, I'm okay with your statement on difficulty. Game's good and a great fix for people like me with no more time to go into mmo raiding
It's not replayability indeed; it's just annoying, and having to go through outskirts every time is just as annoying, but I digress.
It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Honestly, I commend the dev for doing something new with the concept of "raids", because I bet many of us have wanted something similar before. I agree that it's unfair that the game can become literally unwinnable due to bad loot rolls, but I think that a game like this indeed needs some sort of "carrot on a stick" to keep people playing.
Let's be honest, people who raid for "fun" are a minority. The fun for most raiding groups is coordinating, min maxing, clearing, and then never doing the raid again. It's an incredible pain in the ass to find people who are willing to attempt old Extreme or Savage in XIV. There are Discords dedicated to it but even then you end waiting up to a couple hours for people to show in PF. If you missed the experience, then you're damned.
I wish more games like this come out because, well, some of us actually find doing Titan Ex or A12 Savage an enjoyable thing to do while bored, but it's one of those things that you can't really enjoy without like minded people.
Why are you harassing me? I am trying to understand the game so I can enjoy it. Stop being a bully.
This game is not aimed at me because it calls itself a roguelike and it's not one
Edit: Also, about the RNG, I think a mode with reduced health pools and no items would be cool, but personally the hint of randomisation keeps me coming back for more.
