This Game is NOT aimed at you , let me explain
The tags says MMO, you/'ve play/ed an mmo and you assume its for people who like FF14 and WoW but no, its actually for people who think raids are the only good part of the game.
I've seen plenty of people complaining about difficulty or RNG or customization but this game was literally only made to make both raids accessible(no lvling) and repayable(RNG loots+skins unlock).

-Difficulty:
Every character has build who can solo the game, most of the people having issues have a skill issue, either with their rotation or positional, some are harder yes, but everyone has an easier time with X class and an harder time with Y. Its just class affinity.

-RNG:
If you remove RNG by streamlining the gems and loots it would remove the replayability that raids needs in order to keep playing them, in mmos once you defeated the hardest boss on the hardest difficulty and got your loot there's no reason to go back really.

-Customization
Although id love to have a make my own bunny type of ui when you make your account, same thing it would ruin replayability. so they would need to put ex: clothes to unlock and that is a lot of work for a single dev. if you want custom skin, mods can do that for you.

I love raiding , I hate lvling and I hate microtransaction.
This game is just perfect for me, will never sub to a mmo ever again.

(Cleared hard on 3 characters and working on others + Lunar)

I'd rather play a game that's always enjoyable than having a % chance the game will be enjoyable or a tedious slog otherwise. And it's okay to beat the hardest boss and move on to something else if you don't enjoy fighting that hardest boss again.

The description of the game on the store page is this:
"RABBIT & STEEL is a co-op action roguelike that recreates the essence of high-level MMO raiding in a randomized, simplified, bunny-sized package."

So if people read it they should know what they're getting into.

Is it added replayability when after the first two chest your DPS is so low you know you can't progress? Is it infrequent, probably. Is it fair and "replayability", I don't know.

Comparing the game to MMO's is also wrong in the case of RNG. You don't go into a raid with a random gear everytime. You have your equipment optimised for the content you are doing.

There's a very wide gap in loot power. It's not necessarly a problem of RNG and more of balance.

Otherwise, I'm okay with your statement on difficulty. Game's good and a great fix for people like me with no more time to go into mmo raiding :mae:

Basically this. I've had Lunar runs that I did clean but lacked the DPS to see it through even with 90~100% uptime simply because the loot I got was just... "Inflict X DoT", or something useless like "Heal 1 HP between runs" when i'm already not taking damage.

It's not replayability indeed; it's just annoying, and having to go through outskirts every time is just as annoying, but I digress.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Honestly, I commend the dev for doing something new with the concept of "raids", because I bet many of us have wanted something similar before. I agree that it's unfair that the game can become literally unwinnable due to bad loot rolls, but I think that a game like this indeed needs some sort of "carrot on a stick" to keep people playing.

Let's be honest, people who raid for "fun" are a minority. The fun for most raiding groups is coordinating, min maxing, clearing, and then never doing the raid again. It's an incredible pain in the ass to find people who are willing to attempt old Extreme or Savage in XIV. There are Discords dedicated to it but even then you end waiting up to a couple hours for people to show in PF. If you missed the experience, then you're damned.

I wish more games like this come out because, well, some of us actually find doing Titan Ex or A12 Savage an enjoyable thing to do while bored, but it's one of those things that you can't really enjoy without like minded people.

I still don’t know the appeal or a clear gameplay of this game.

Well, it's certainly not to go into old threads and complain there. Don't you have your own thread you respond to?

Why are you harassing me? I am trying to understand the game so I can enjoy it. Stop being a bully.

Because you brought up an old thread when you already made one for the topic.

This game is not aimed at me because it calls itself a roguelike and it's not one

I think this is more due to misuse of the word "rougelike" on the Internet (people tend to think anything with randomised content and permadeath is a rougelike nowadays - for a time myself included), but I'd certainly argue for it being a rougelite game.

Edit: Also, about the RNG, I think a mode with reduced health pools and no items would be cool, but personally the hint of randomisation keeps me coming back for more.

It is more roguelike than roguelite though. There's no progression mechanics to give you an advantage.

Is a rougelite like a game with a lot of blue and green or something?
