How do you get it? It says its in the back of the CD case but we don't have any CD case.

The art book has a picture of the old CD case. I think it's in the manual too.

How do you access the art book?

it is on the in-game manual, if you press LB/RB or L1/R1 a menu should come up and its there under 'Online Manual' turn the case around and you can see her codec frequency there.

Ah yes, I ran across this issue when I rented the game from Block Buster for a weekend and it was given in a generic Block Buster case with no manual. The solution was to go through every single codec number one by one until I ran across it.

Or you can do what they suggested, up to you if you want that real 1999 experience lol.

I deeply respect the fact that no one has flat out said the codec number. Give OP the authentic MGS1 experience.

Thank you, I couldn't find it initially, and yes Google would suffice, but I wanted the full experience of when I played it back in the day...and there it was!

You can also just keep calling Campbell a few times and her number will eventually be added to the list automatically.

same, but i called and they told me i could come pick up the real case and return it with the game. was a cool small local rental place. my mind was blown by that 7d chess move. this was probably more common for PC games of the time than consoles, which is all i had.

i was stumped for a bit though :crashbcoot:
