Hoewever you could finish the game with less than 10 kills I believe.
There's no CQC in Metal Gear Solid.
There is: You can grab someone, break their neck, throw them, and do the punch punch kick combo.
You know since you haven't played these games you should buy this collection and play them, that way you'll be able to speak about things you know here.
It's 25 or less.
I am doing a Fox run now, and it's:
5 Alerts or less
25 Kills (not counting bosses) or less
Used up to 1 ration
No continues
Saved 80 or less time
Under 3 Hours
I know, you can beat the game with less than 10 kills.
On the contrary, I played all these games. On the other hand, you are revealing that you never played MGS4, please watch this video and listen carefully:

What did Solid Snake say to Otacon?
Besides, CQC isn't mentioned in any of the dialogues present in Metal Gear Solid, or its manual. The same applies to MGS2, CQC isn't mentioned anywhere.
Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy8vABhynOk
Yes, that's what I'm saying. Any fan of the franchise would know that.
What did Snake say to Otacon?

Yes, chronologicaly MGS1 is after MGS3 (in the story) and Snake learned from his mentor (no spoiler this is MGS1).
CQC stands for Close Quarter Combat so even non MGS fans should know that throwing someone, punching and such is CQC, no idea how some people don't even know that.
Watch out for spoilers: Yes I know he don't use the CQC Big Boss taught him he use another form of CQC, the reason have been explained in MGS4 too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRSNhlTVLVQ
Here's the definition of CQC: "Close-quarters combat (CQC) or close-quarters battle (CQB) is a close combat situation between multiple combatants involving ranged (typically firearm-based) or melee combat. It can occur between military units, law enforcement and criminal elements, and in other similar situations."
So punching, kicking, throwing your opponent is considered CQC.
I think it's mentionned in MG portable OPS or MGS:PW too that at some point it can be called CQB, but I don't remember it's been so long since I've played those, or maybe it's in MG acid 1/2.
So there is CQC in MGS1 just as I've mentionned.
PS: George, the youtuber I've mention in later replies is a known MG/S fan so his video about all CQC techniques in MGS games hold more worth than random youtubers trying to earn cash via clickbait and drama. I suggest that you watch his videos since he do know his stuff unlike some people who don't even own the games.
Did you read the title of the video you linked?
