MGS1 uses M2 emulation frontend used in Wii virtual console
Same emulator frontend was used in Castlevania collection from Konami.

Konami didn't code it, company M2 (same that worked on recent resident evil games) responsible for that garbage emulator.

Emulator seems to not support bilinear filtering of textures, but it does support scanlines and shadow mask or aperture grille effects and higher resolutions, few different aspect ratios options. All of these options hidden and disabled.

I'm currently trying to enable those hidden options, but only disabling full screen filtering worked so far.

Modders doing what Konami can't
It's literally just duckstation grabbing the roms from the BIN files.

Okay and?

At that point just download duckstation and the game yourself. You don't need to wait for a 3.5 GB download for that if you're just gonna play one version of the game.
Also 3.5 GB looks suspicious. Duckstation only takes like a couple of MB of space so that kind of leads me to believe there are game dumps in that mod.

So what's your beef then? Konami and M2 dropped the ball and there's no going back.

Those bin files in game directory are not the disk images, they are M2 fronted archives that needs to be unpacked with m2 tools.

Search for Castlevania collection m2 tools, they have same encryption key so tutorial for unpacking works with mgs 1 too.

Yeah I know that, I searched up the Castlevania collection as well to help me unpack the files.

I was talking about the mod linked a bit before

This one.

It supposedly changes the emulator to swanstation(duckstation fork) but the mod is like a 3.5GB download which makes me think it actually has the disc .bin files inside, possibly even with a bios to have it run.

EDIT: The mod's been updated to be something completely different to what was prior, it no longer uses swanstation or different bin files for the game. Seems it's using fullscreenizer to increase the screen resolution to 4K and reshade for the CRT shader, it's now about 2MB in size.

It literally did aha.
All it did was check you had 3 bin files named certain things in certain locations.
Then extracted.

here's the file list (its super long soz) https://drive.google.com/file/d/18OK37fj3AWVbpUBf-QjcVafMgq9oxxhc/view?usp=sharing

That's so funny.
I guess next we'll get a mod that restores the Skateboarding minigame for MGS2 and it's just a PS2 ISO of Substance with PCSX2

M2 doing emulators on this frontend more than decade, they could have done better job and use some new code from duckstation instead of most barebone featureless emulator code they do use.

Also adding effects that emulator CRT tvs and color smearing and bluriness of composite to make authentic PS1 expirience, and extra options like bilinear filtering, de-wobling etc is very easy and cheap and would not require much of the budget.

So i would blame them for doing lazy hack job with MGS1 emulation.

...are you familiar with m2's work?

Is it really possible to extract sounds from alldata.bin with MArchiveBatchTool ? I tried some commands for extraction but failed.
Anyone knows about this please tell me, I'm thinking again on restoring sound effects (quality) for MGS1 (PC) GOG.

Nah you can extract isos (bin/cues) with that tool but then you have to mount isos to get files stored inside and you need to find psx/ps1 or mgs 1 specific file format tools to extract sounds from those files.
