You can do all this while in-game as well without closing the game, just alt+tab out to do it and return to the game to see if the setting you chose worked.
I get this issue all the time in various games and this fixes it 99% of the time for me.
You might have wanted to have the start with going to Steam > Settings> Controller and make sure they even have it on to begin with, then your steps.
Possibly. But what I suggested to do is doing the same thing, just per game not globally. After 6k+ games I realized it was more of a PITA to leave it enabled than just change it as necessary per game in 5 seconds. I actually have more issues/conflicts with controller input leaving it enabled.
PlayStation controllers for example need to go through the whole naming and customization thing. (Xbox controllers never really need Steam Input, except for the Elite and some 3rd party ones)
In which you can NOT toggle Steam Input on and off.
It does work properly on my Desktop PC. But Deck is stuck on Keyboard controls.
Yep. Did the trick for me with my Xbox Elite 2 Controller. Had to disable Controller input and then the game works. Thanks.
